Ah the country themes.   Karol

I think there are some really memorable tunes which have become ingrained in public consciousness.   Definitely France, US, Russia and Israel.

Here's my country's national anthem. Unfortunately, it became a symbol for the far-right nutjobs that are on the government.

Who knows the national anthem of East Germany? I so love this piece (musically) soooo much! What's your favorite anthem? Musically spoken! :D

Nice melody. Typically pathos-laden self-important lyrics. And for some reason, you can sing the lyrics of the German anthem over this melody.

Also: Fuck the SBZ.

Agreed on the Russian anthem:

The UK post-Brexit?

England - God Save the Queen

Scotland - Flower of Scotland

Wales - Land of My Fathers

will be the anthems after a U.K. breakup. The first is awful, the other two are great.

I don’t know what will happen re: an anthem for a United Ireland but I can’t see it staying as the current anthem for the Republic. Just hopefully it isn’t Ireland’s Call.

You should just go with An Irish Blessing. Every choir in the world can sing that in their sleep.

That's a rather "meh" version. I prefer this fullbodied, lyrical choral version:

The one I posted was obviously bait for Titanic lovers. ;)

I tried to find an orchestra + choir version, but couldn't find it.
