He also gave a nod to his favorite composer, John Williams. Williams, of course, is responsible for the iconic scores behind Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, and more.

“For me, as a black man and as a black filmmaker, I wanted to feel free to show the influence of my favorite composer, John Williams,” said Stegall. “The idea of using color and different flourishes. These are things that speak directly to our culture. It’s gotta have color, change, harmony, rhythm.”

But this particular influence seems somewhat interesting. JW once again has served as a bridge builder between parts of society that have felt left out. 

 

His music unites and inspires everyone, no matter race, or gender.

wait wasn't it proven that JW's music is racist by the Washingon post ?

 

It's improper for him to use "color" in his scores
