Popular Post Once 1,081 Posted March 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2021 Quote Sources tell Deadline that Spielberg is coming on to direct an untitled pic at Amblin Partners that is loosely based on his childhood growing up in Arizona. Insiders add that Michelle Williams is in negotiations to star in a major role inspired by his mom but with a separate and original voice. Given how personal the story is, this will also mark the first time since A.I. that Spielberg will partake in screenwriting duties, co-writing the script with Tony Kushner, who has penned several Spielberg movies in the past. The film will start shooting this summer with an expectation that it will be released sometime in 2022. Couldn't find a thread on this (maybe I didn't look hard enough?). This project sounds ideal for a great Williams score... Source! Jay, The Illustrious Jerry, crocodile and 5 others 8

Popular Post Jay 45,801 Posted March 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2021 It's hard not to imagine how a deeply personal film for Spielberg will translate to JW caring very, very much about crafting the right score for it Once, Holko, TSMefford and 2 others 5
Edmilson 12,209 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Sounds like an excellent project for Williams to score. Maybe it'll be a score like the music from the childhood scenes of Born on the Fourth of July?
Raiders of the SoundtrArk 2,665 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Spielberg wouldn't be Spielberg without Williams, the two have such a perfect alchimie that a Williams score could only be a perfect idea. Can't wait for this project to happen. Once 1
Jurassic Shark 16,355 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 I'm sure Silvestri will deliver a functional score.
Thor 9,347 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Interesting, for sure. But from experience, I won't get my hopes up untill the film is basically in cinemas!
Lord Zimmer 211 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Are you people serious? That description sounds dull af, he shouldn’t even bother JW with what prolly will end up being an Oscarbaity borefest.
TheUlyssesian 2,696 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Seriously Michelle is going to ACT IN and SCORE the film. Would be interesting to see her pull off a Streisand or Gaga.
TSMefford 1,718 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 This sounds like a very intriguing project. Looking forward to it and a potential Williams score.

He wouldn't want anyone other than Williams to do it. And with it being small-scale, wouldn't require huge amounts of music like an action film. Sounds perfect! Once and Edmilson 2

Romão 2,469 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Sounds like an interesting project with great potential for the score. The two finest films is Spielberg's career, IMHO (E.T. and Empire of the Sun) both tackled childhood, so the prospects are good Will and Holko 2

Thor 9,347 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Not a fan of Rogen, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Popular Post crumbs 15,933 Posted March 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 23, 2021 Even more interesting than Rogen co-starring, Spielberg himself is co-writing the screenplay with Tony Kushner! That's an elite combination of talent. And it's Spielberg's first writing project since A.I. Not sure if that's new information but it was to me! This film could be something very special... hopefully it's not pretentious Oscar bait. Raiders of the SoundtrArk, Holko and Will 3
Thor 9,347 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 It's not new information (to me), and yes - that is extra promising.
Jurassic Shark 16,355 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Me too. With Rogen on the team, the film is guaranteed to have a lot of fart jokes. Will 1
Sweeping Strings 3,381 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Am wondering with the casting of Rogen if the uncle in question was Spielberg's favourite because he always had weed. Jurassic Shark 1
