Films in which the theme of childhood plays a significant role.

But I’d like to see what other lists can be created with other definitions.

I'm not familiar with the work of his offspring, except for bits of A.I.

Does he have more than one composer among his children.

😎

There is not a child in the world who didn't fall asleep during the first thirty minutes of BFG.

So, that one must be excluded.

I don't find E.T. to be a childhood film as much as HP or Home Alone, because with the latter there's such a powerful connection from the entire film and its music, to Harry and Kevin, even when they aren't in the scenes. With E.T I feel the narrative and music connect a lot more with E.T. rather than focus much on Elliott.

So the highest-quality scores in this category for me are.

1. Home Alone

2. Harry Potter 1-3

Looking at the list elements, the assumption seems to be "features a kid==for kids".

When I read the title at first, I thought you meant ranking scores made by Williams' children. It would be a very short list.

Joseph Williams has 42 composer entries on IMDB.

Yes, that was my interpretation too. Mark and Jennifer haven't done much in terms of film music, but Joseph has done quite a bit, as JS mentions earlier. In terms of his own compositions, the ROSWELL series is probably his greatest claim to fame, but I like his moody music for the TV series SLEEPWALKERS:
