Popular Post crumbs 14,314
Hypothetical question. You have a solar powered iPod which only has room for 5 John Williams tracks from any of his album releases, which you fortunately copied across before your chartered plane flight to a COVID-safe tropical island in the middle of nowhere. Being the massive cheapskate you are, you decided to charter a Czechoslovakian L-410 twin-propeller jet flown by an Uber driver, which travel insurance refused to cover. Unsurprisingly, your plane plunged into the ocean and left you the sole survivor on a tropical island infested with crabs, thousands of miles from the nearest populated landmass. Being the highly anxious and pessimistic person you are, you pre-empted this possibility and ensured your solar powered iPod had 5 JW tracks you could happily listen to on repeat for a potential 5 year stint in soul-crushing isolation. How fortunate! So, anyway... what 5 tracks do you choose? Chewy, Tom, Bellosh and 7 others 2
WampaRat 1,105
Well I’ll be picking some long tracks then;) 1.Remembering Childhood (Hook) 2. Indy’s First Adventure ( Last Crusade-concord version) 3. The Battle of Hoth (ESB-RCA version) 4. Jedi Steps and Finale (Force Awakens) 5. Escape/Chase/ Saying Goodbye...(E.T. 2002 version)
Smeltington 1,440
Faking the Code A New Beginning (Minority Report OST) Love Pledge / The Arena Mischief Managed (for WampaRat reasons) And since I'm stuck on a crab-infested island, my fifth selection won't be John Williams: I'll spend the rest of my life teaching the crabs this routine. Raiders of the SoundtrArk 2,433
I'm just gonna choose the longest tracks possible: 1. Adventure on Earth (35th Anniversary Edition) 2. The Battle of Hoth (RCA) 3. Mischief Managed ! 4. End Credits (from Revenge of the Sith) 5. The Jedi Steps and Final although to be fair I would rather take my personal mixes: 1. Battle of Endor (32:17) 2. Farewell/The Jedi Steps/Finale (16:20) 3. Arrival on Mustaphar/Duel of the Fates/Battle of the Heroes (18:32) 4. Adventure on Earth (same as the 35th Anniversary) 5. The Battle of Hoth (same as RCA) GerateWohl

Naïve Old Fart 9,527
I'm not trying to be anything. I don't go for "best ofs" or "greatest hits"; I prefer deep cuts. As it happens, these five tracks are the five JW pieces of music that move me, the most. Simple.

Datameister 2,042
Journey to the Island Adventure on Earth Pain of Glass / Truck Stop (my own edit from the LLL release) Throne Room / End Title POA end credits (either the album version or the recorded version with Hedwig's theme...not sure which) God damn, I can't believe there's no Indy on that list. Also, I'm strongly tempted to put the Battle of Hoth in there instead of the TLW track. Yikes. Toughie. I will say that these are not an attempt at picking my five best Williams tracks of all time. These are among my many favorites, but I'm just trying to imagine what would be most likely to hold me over from right now until mid-2026.
