Yeah, and make sure it's an actual FFP2-rated mask (the thicker, sturdier kind than the surgical/medical variety). I didn't take note of that, as I was used to the surgical/medical masks, and I assumed they are enough everywhere. But when I brought it to the entrance of the Philharmonie, they told me that that was insufficient. Luckily they had FFP2 masks that I could use.

Really? I only have surgical masks. Hopefully, I can buy some of them proper ones in Berlin tomorrow. I'm off in just 3 hours or so.

Yes, they can be bought anywhere in Berlin.

Today during the rehearsal they played:

  1. Olympic Fanfare and Theme
  2. Close Encounters of the third Kind
  3. Suite from Far and Away
  4. Three Pieces from Harry Potter
  5. Jurassic Park Finale

The maestro was in great shape, how incredible to see him live for the first time, I still can't believe this has happened!!!!

Do you know what was played yesterday!?

Jurassic Park Finale or just the regular theme / medley, like he did in Vienna?

I attended the rehearsal too and John Looks fantastic. He walks as a 89 year old man but when conducting he looks 30 years younger!

It would have been funnier if you wrote that he walks like an 88 years old...

Jurassic Park Finale. He introduced it this way, saying approximately that "Spielberg has done other JP movies after but that was the finale from the first one

I sadly couldn't seen him walking on stage (to far) so to me he just look like a man in his fresh 60 with lot of energy and joy

So is that Welcome to Jurassic Park?

Nope: Jurassic Park Finale (the 5min one)

How did you attend? You are older than 30?

It will be the same version from Hal Leonard Suite, the one he conducted at Vienna.

Nope I'm far younger than this 😂

So this rehearsal was a true blessing: a free hour with the maestro and one of the greatest orchestra.

I wouldn't have been able to dream of it even if I wanted to

I went in and they said nothing about my age. They checked everything (ID, Ticket and QR code) and said enjoy the rehearsal.

Damn, that would have been useful to know. Would have booked an earlier flight if I knew that old people like me  could attend rehearsals.

So same one as in Vienna (Jurassic Park "Theme") or different piece of music?

So does that mean it's T-Rex Rescue & Finale that's being heard in concert rather than the Vienna version?

It will be the same as the vienna one, it's the only cue on the hal leonard john williams signature edition.

This photo confirms it.

Flying to Berlin tomorrow (from France ;)).

I

CANNOT

FUCKING

WAIT

Pretty excited as well.

I took my flight from Paris this morning. For the record, I left a sunny city... to find grey skies and a little rain there (currently on my way to the hotel on the S-Bahn train).
