Thor 7,385
We were discussing Leonard Rosenman over on FSM, so I looked up a few old interviews with him, and in one of them Rosenman claims that John Williams was originally slated to do this Andrew V. McLaglen western from 1968, but that he had to decline because he suffered from appendicitis at the time. So Rosenman ended up doing it. I've never seen it, and I don't know if Rosenman's assertion is correct (he had many weird assertions in interviews, especially regarding his own work), but Williams and McLaglen previously collaborated on THE RARE BREED, so it wouldn't be totally unreasonable. Anyone have any more info on this?
Bespin 8,457
If we talk about an abandoned project of John Williams, can we talk about Harry Potter and the Cham...
MrScratch 294
McLaglen also directed Mitchell (1975)… wow, maybe in some alternate universe Williams scores that instead of Jaws
