See the film scores that made it to this year's longlist (curated by the IFMCA), and cast your vote on the WSA Public Choice Award here:

The deadline to vote is 15 August.
 
The nominees will be announced via the newsletter mid-September.
The winner will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards ceremony & concert.
 
There will again be two symphonic concerts during Film Fest Ghent:
 
22 October: Great Greek Composers (with music by Eleni Karaindrou, Evanthia Reboutsika, Mikis Theodorakis, Vangelis et al.)
23 October: World Soundtrack Awards, with guest of honour Max Richter and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Eleni Karaindrou

Since the festival is in October, the cut-off date for the World Soundtrack Awards is in the middle of the year (June), so the eligibility period does not correspond to a calendar year.

Best score on that list is WILD MOUNTAIN THYME, although several of my own favourites of 2020 are missing. But that could also have something to do with the evaluation period, I don't know; haven't checked.

 

Alas, I'm rarely in line with my good colleagues in the IFMCA. :)

Medal of Honor would be my favorite score from this eligibility period, but I don't see it on the list.

 

So from the scores on the list, my favorite is Tom & Jerry by Christopher Lennertz.

That's because the Public Choice list consists of film scores only, no videogame scores.
