2006 was a pretty "meh" year. Some decent scores, but nothing exactly outstanding.

Besides the ones in the poll, there was also:

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Zimmer)
  • Cars (Randy Newman)
  • Superman Returns (Ottman)
  • Ice Age 2 (Powell)
  • X-Men: The Last Stand (Powell)
  • Mission: Impossible III (Giacchino)
  • The Omen (Beltrami)
  • Blood Diamond (JNH)
  • Apocalypto (Horner)
  • Pan's Labyrinth (Navarrete)

Finally one I have an answer for. Lady in the Water is my favourite of all JNH scores, so it's the clear winner for me (of those that I've heard) - even including all the other scores listed in the posts above. The Fountain is a very strong contender though.

I agree, specially with the poll choices.

I hesitated between Da Vinci Code and The Fountain, ended up voting for the latter. But if Pan's Labyrinth had been on the list that would have been my choice.

I'd like to post in these yearly threads, but I can't find my list of my favourite scores throughout history. I also posted this on FSM, but the board is down, plus I can't log in there anymore anyway. Anyone remember what the thread here was called? It was a list of favourite scores by year. Some posted only from the 70s onwards, but I posted about all of the years.

Don't tell me you've been banned like Bruce.

Could be (although that would be bizarre, just out of the blue), but I've been having password problems several places since I came back from my holiday, so I'm suspecting something like a widespread hack.

Anyways....need the name of that thread, so I can re-find my favourite of 2006 (and the other years).

Can't you simply reset the password?

No. The log-in page just clears the fields and resets. Same for 'retrieve password' page. Can't even create a new user. And the same thing also happens on my Dropbox accounts, I now discovered.

Same issue across all browsers. But bizarrely, it works on my iPhone. But let's not derail this thread further with my computer issues. :)

My favourite of 2006 is WORLD TRADE CENTER (Craig Armstrong).

Of the poll options, I voted for THE DA VINCI CODE.

Nothing. Poor year for films and scores

Come on, what's wrong with a fun action cue like this

Or a fun romantic cue like this

Someone hacked you, stole your passwords… and changed your FSM login?

FSM sends you your password in plaintext if you forget it, it's not exactly hard to "hack" that ancient relic of a forum software.

I can't express my vote for now, as the only score from that list I know is currently "The Fountain".

I ordered Lady in the water... we'll see...

Dunno why you continue to show a lack of interest in David Arnold scores.  You'd like his stuff

In the last 2 years I've "seriously" integrated all these "new"composers to my CD collection : John Barry, Danny Elfman, Elliot Goldenthal, James Horner, Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, Trevor Jones, Henry Mancini, Howard Shore, Marc Shaiman and Alan Silvestri...

So I'm learning slowly, but surely...  David Arnold has not popped out on my radar yet, sorry about that!
