Edmilson 7,426
I'm not an expert on this Asian martial arts score, but I do think both Hero (2002) and House of the Flying Daggers are better scores than Crouching Tiger. Madmartigan JC

Edmilson 7,426
Hero is probably my favorite Chinese-influenced score ever. Very beautiful and meditative. The movie is visually stunning as well.

Jay 37,336
Seeing Crouching Tiger, Hero, and House of Flying Daggers in the cinema were three of my favorite theatrical experiences of the 2000s. I dunno why I never listened to their score albums. I should rectify that.
artguy360 1,843
Hero is a good movie with a great score. Tan Dun does better work in Hero than he did for Crouching Tiger. Memoirs is a bad movie with a great score. I think it is another example of JW being inspired by something other than the film itself, leading to an amazing score. In this case, I imagine it was his love of the book that inspired his score. Madmartigan JC and Edmilson
Popular Post GerateWohl 4,350
The score vote is quite clear. Would not have expected that. As if we were here in some kind of John Williams fan forum. Bayesian, Jurassic Shark, crumbs and 1 other 1
crocodile 7,999
Crouching Tiger is a very good movie and Geisha is not. It does win in the score category though. It needs to be said there is nothing wrong with Tan Dun's work. Karol
