And the Oscars and those critic guilds I mentionned, sulked The Book Thief in their Winners, why?

At least it won a Grammy!

Maybe for the "not John Williams again" reason? 😄

So a part from Book Thief,  what's your 2nd choice?

Back in 2013, my favourite score of the year was a "double header" of WINNIE MANDELA and COPPERHEAD (Laurent Eyquem). But today, I consider PRISONERS (Jóhann Jóhannsson) the best.

Of the poll options, I would pick GRAND PIANO.

Here's my podcast episode about the 10 best scores of 2013 (in English), for anyone interested: http://celluloidtunes.no/celluloid-tunes-12-the-10-best-scores-of-2013-4th-international-edition/

I can't vote on my own poll here, I'm not familar with any of these....

Well, that's my goal... to discover new music and composers!

Romeo & Juliet is amazing.

And although Evil Dead is though listen because it's a horror. That score has so much inventive writing for orchestra and choir. It's terrific.

Runners up

Ramin Djawadi - Pacific Rim

Víctor Reyes  - Grand Piano

Abel Korzeniowski - Romeo and Juliet
Alan Silvestri - The Croods
Danny Elfman - Epic
Henry Jackman - Turbo

From a 2021 perspective, I can certainly say that the 2013 scores I've listened to the most amount of times are certainly Desolation of Smaug, Now You See Me, Star Trek Into Darkness, Planes, Star Trek: The Game, and SimCity.

This is a good reminder to myself that I apparently once really liked the scores to Passion, The Croods, Epic, and Turbo, four scores I probably have not heard since 2014ish.

And boy, did I completely forget about Laurent Perez Del Mar, for a long time I was really into his stuff!  Whatever happened to him?

From your poll, I picked The Wind Rises, which apparently previous me wasn't familiar with yet somehow?

Evil Dead is an easy pick out of your options, but I’d probably opt for Desolation of Smaug overall.

I love Tauriel's Theme

No real concensus on that one, apart that your favourite cores of that year are not in the poll choices!
