I think LLL said they had a "spectacular" JW release still to come this year (I think).

MV's full quote, from July 25, was:

"We have some spectacular releases coming from Williams, Horner, and some guy named Goldsmith"

https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=144674&forumID=1&archive=0

Since that post, their August flyer revealed Time Tunnel 2 and Khan, and their September flyer revealed Glory.

We currently have no indication from any label that they have any JW remaining this year.

I am aware that Time Tunnel vol. 2 features some Williams music but damn, they know we love Williams and I'm sure they wouldn't tease us a Williams 3 minutes release knowing that we're all expecting for Hook... Maybe I'm wrong though.

Anyway would it be accurate to say that "specular releases" (plural) could be understand as multiple releases for each composer since we already have two Horner, one small Williams and that the odds for a Goldsmith at 20th vol. 4 are high (with possibly to score in it like vol.1&3)?

Agreed, no way MV teased Time Tunnel Vol.2 as the next Williams release!

Yeah, a release that features three minutes of John Williams music isn't something that I would call "spectacular release from Williams".

It could still just be a joke to totally throw us off balance once they do announce it on BF.

I seem to remember Maurizio posting somewhere on here about another podcast to come later this year but can't find it, if I'm mistaken my apologies.

Here's the post you're thinking of

[edit]: I've just make some modification as I've noticed I've forgot to put the title on the CD

Forgetting to put the title on the cover would be a much more believable mistake.

I thought we already stated that Amistad was a "problematic" JW work...

Why not release 14 Years in Tibet right away.

EDIT: Trigger warning: Jurassic Shark joke!

  • 4 weeks later...

I was able to open it.  Not a big deal.  Evidently, the world ends toward the end of October, and we will never be able to enjoy this release--that and one of the bonus track versions of Banning Back Home was shortened by 3 seconds.

So what did it say exactly?

Sophie hinted at a few new arrangements, so unless that was a linguistic mistake, we should be getting more.  Stands to reason considering the concerto is around 35 minutes. Enough space for quite a few more for a CD release. Fingers crossed!

So Hook has bonus tracks? I'm confused. Would be really helpful if someone who can see the page would just post what it is.

It's just disconcerting that Mike is worried in relation to a Hook expansion.

What if Sony are refusing to licence the score to LLL? Is the release assembled but stuck in approvals, and they're struggling to get vocalists to sign off on the songs? Are elements still missing and Mike's worried about how to assemble everything?

Aghhhhhhhhhhh....!!!!

I don't know but it's quite sad. Personnaly I was considering him a great Mixer/Recorder before the Star Wars horror (which I like to think was an accident)

It's like Kathleen Kennedy, she used to be hell of a producer... and now she said yes to Star Wars: Galaxy of Sounds :crymore:

I always try to hope that Mike managed to do everything properly and that we're just waiting around for some licence thing no one in the real world gives a damn about. I don't mind waiting, but MIke needs to do it.
