In the moment, no. In an hour? Maybe.

I know it's hard, but for those of you who do, do the best you can to have perspective.

Of course, if it's really really bad all the time and it's not just that you're forgetting the good moments, MAKE A MOVE! You're in control of your life.

I know, it feels bad to complain when people have lost their jobs during the pandemic. But it's not getting any better, so...

...I've been working hard to get my foot in somewhere else... I'll know soon if it's a success.

Hate's a strong word.   I neither love nor hate it.  Not a bad living, hardly ever have to work overtime.

Option added. Don't know if it applies to you.

At this moment maybe. im working on a friday. Ugh. But i will take off December 22 as trade.

I am in a training on Federal Grants. It has little to do with my job. Monday I will be back in love with my job.

About to resume my job from before the pandemic. I expect to have some frustrations, but overall I've really missed it and I'm looking forward to being back.

Some of the work I've done in the meantime has really tried my patience at times. I wouldn't say I've hated it, but this is almost certainly going to be a lot better.

I enjoy working at Christmas, and New Year means absolutely zero, to me, anyway.

My job has really improved significantly over the past few months so I'm happy. If you had asked me this in January I would have said I absolutely detest it. My role has changed quite a bit in that it no longer involves super-frustrating aspects that made it unbearable for me at the time.

Things can change suddenly and unexpectedly (although I suppose it depends on what it is that is specifically making you unhappy). However, it cannot hurt to look into other options if you really feel that you have no future in that space. I've learnt that there are always other opportunities even when it seems hopeless.

Hang in there Mr Shark.

That's great to hear.

Thanks for that, but as you know, a shark doesn't like to hang. Different opportunitets are being investigated, and wheels have been set in motion. Some way or another I think there will be improvement. Unless an expanded soundtrack release of Stepmom comes along, that is...

I still love my job, the most satisfying part is that they now pair me with new employees, I teach them my job, well, the job... and strangely they give great feedbacks about me!

Of course you love that you can make other people do your job. :lick:

Depends which hour of the day you ask me this question

I work in software in the Cloud, meaning solving a lot of problems with technologies I've been using for the last week. 90% of the time this is rather fun, and the rest of the time... not so much. I would venture to suggest that if you're in this field and you're not getting monstrously frustrated now and again, you're probably not doing challenging enough work. (and you're also not learning stuff if you don't solve problems routinely)

I'm working in Agile mode now... remembering how water fall was not as bad, finally!

Now we manage the managing... so much time lost...

Would you buy it, if they published a shortened edition of Stepmom soundtrack? Maybe you could like that more.

I'm listening to that right now! In fact, it couldn't have been shorter.

Skip the first track. That makes the listening experience much better.

For me Stepmom is somehow Williams' Thomas Newman score. Therefore, I like it.

But for such discussion I am as usual in the wrong thread.

Since I returned to the office in July, I've been 'in' Mon - Fri on a until-lunchtime-only basis but with no reduction in salary. So can't really complain.

Have made clear that if the return of more staff requires me to go back to also working afternoons, I'll be happy to do so ... I mean, I'll probably bitterly resent it but it's best to cover your ass innit?

All the more time to pop into Forbidden Planet at the fag end of Shaftesbury Ave., and pick up that 4th Doctor scarf you've had your eye on ;)

I have had every single shift planned for the remainder of February cancelled. I have no more forthcoming work. I am, effectively, unemployed.

(edit)

What's confusing, Shark? I'm a bank staff worker for the N.H.S. I go where there is a demand. No demand = no work. Q.E.D.

The 10-year lease my work has with the building in which we're currently housed comes to an end in April, and we're moving (we've to be out by 17th March).

Being the onsite Premises and Facilities guy in this circumstance is about as much fun as you'd think (I would love to tell you that shortly after 8 am this morning I wasn't walking around the office counting all the sets of desk drawers and all the chairs in order to add the figures to an inventory I've been tasked with completing, but I'd be lying).

I just finished a massive risk analysis that I started in October. Then I helped my coworker who was auditing travel. It goes without saying you do not charge govt money for alcohol purchases.

Sometimes work is fun.

Ok, folks, it's official. My job is the shitiest job in the entire world. I don't just hate it, I loathe and detest it. I hate it so much that if they fired me, I'd thank them for it. I could cope with the physicality of it, if it wasn't for the fact that the team has not accepted me. This is the most demoralising part of the job. I'm tolerated at best, and either ignored or patronised, at worst.  Because of this, I feel tired and worn out, both physically and mentally, and unable to give my best. It's a real horrible situation, and can't wait to find another job.

I really love my job right now. The working climate there is the paragon of how it should be in every working environment. The level of trust, freedom and autonomy is extraordinary - if you get treated that well and respectfully you just won't exploit that level of trust and finish your work to the best of one's knowledge and belief. I'm spoiled for every job that is to follow.

Hoping for a future job market that makes more people say what I just said.

I've done it. I've just quit my job.

I simply could not go on, like that. All is not lost, however, as I have an interview for another job, tomorrow morning.

As always, I'll keep you updated; off the record, on the qt, and very hush hush :)

Great to hear you've got another interview. Just don't reveal during the interview that you've already quit your job.
