After listening several times to Sleepy Hollow and Eiger Sanction and Land Before Time, I didn’t request replacement discs because those seemed completely fine to me.  Likewise, based on the things people here are complaining about, this release seems like it will be fine to me.  I’m happy to have access to more music from this score and, as with any expansion, have no real interest personally in whether it’s C&C.

 

I’m old enough to remember and be part of the rabble hounding Sony for The Phantom Menace UE (a release that, to me, was and still is genuinely flawed/misconceived) and old enough to remember that the squeaky wheel didn’t get the grease there - if rumors from the time were correct, the squeaky wheel got thrown in the garbage.

Agreed! Even if the releases aren't "perfect" I still really hope they continue with The Legacy Collection.

 

I think Aladdin is one of everyones top requests!

I'm finally listening to this. Apart from the glitches mentioned here already, I wanted to add this: is it me, or does the score still suffer from an awful mix? The voices are too loud, the orchestra too soft, or something else, I don't know... The performance isn't that great either. I still feel like this score really needs a re-recording.

I think it sounds great as it is. But Menken still has that live-action remake lined up too. That could be the re-recording you're looking for. I doubt it will be my thing though. None of his remake scores (or songs) have been. I much prefer to see him brought back for something new. Disney has no shortage of movies in need of a song writer, if not a score composer - even with the Lopez couple or Lin Manuel Miranda taken into account.

Disney, can you re-release the complete Legacy Collection Reissue with the extended track of "And He Shall Smite The Wicked"  with the additional cue of Frollo's death (which was present in the 1996 soundtrack) that was played during the climax added fixed please?

Finally got this CD! After my initial euphoria about its release was tempered a lot by the reported issues, I kept holding out hoping for a corrected pressing, but I guess that will remain futile for the forseeable future, so the release of Aladdin was as good an opportunity as any to order it at last (and save a bit on shipping costs).

Enough has been posted here about the shortcomings of the release, so I won't dwell on that here. But the expanded score is a joy to listen to! (Just the prepending of score tracks at the beginning of several songs is a headscratcher...) And I really enjoy the multiple stages of demo tracks (piano demo + synth demo), which, as in several previous LC releases, allow a great glimpse behind the process of creation - especially regarding later replaced/refined sections of familiar songs!

Well I bought the CD but as many have expressed, the faulty parts and inexcusable. Sad this probably being the greatest work form Alan Menken (should have won an Oscar which is also inexcusable). 
Is the fan-fixed version available in lossless format (FLAC) somewhere by any chance?
