Great suggestion!  Reminds me a bit of Goldenthal's demented horror scoring in Interview with the vampire because of the waltz (like Lestat's dance) interspersed with demented music.

Hehe, I know exactly what moment you mean.  Right before the rebel's fire the turrets.  The problem I have is that isn't a cue, it's a brief moment in the score.  Is there an entire cue in his body of work that best captures that same mood?  

how about the search for the blue fairy?
