MikeH 768
The scores for Scream 2 and Scream 3 are so fun and over the top and operatic that it’s a bit of a letdown that 4 and 5 didn’t have the big music budgets and had to rely more on orchestral samples instead. The orchestrations and performances by the musicians on the original trilogy are just superb, especially for 2 and 3 where Beltrami got a much bigger budget and was able to use the full Hollywood Studio Symphony. 3 in particular has some really cool synths and electronic effects in addition to a lot of fun avant-garde orchestral writing.
