Popular Post mahler3 478
Happy 2022! When do we stop saying that? :-) Anyway, for any local John Williams / film music enthusiasts, come and say hello and join us in celebrating the 90th Birthday of Williams the Northern Irish way. Here's the terrific repertoire which we will be playing on the night: The Superman March The Witches of Eastwick: Devil's Dance Excerpts from Fiddler on the Roof Harry Potter: Hedwig and Harry's Wondrous World The Terminal: Viktor's Tale Hook: Flight to Neverland Saving Private Ryan: Hymn to the Fallen The Raiders March ----- interval ----- E.T.: Adventures on Earth Jaws: Theme Themes from Jurassic Park Schindler's List: Remembrances Catch Me If You Can: Closing In Star Wars: Princess Leia and Main Theme https://www.ulsterorchestra.org.uk/whats-on/the-brilliance-of-williams!/ Coincidentally Mike Matessino told me that it's the same date as Leslie Bricusse's Birthday. He would have been 91 so we will be acknowledging this on the night. GerateWohl 4,282
Hymn to the Fallen with choir or without? No choir is mentioned in the anouncement. And it is the only piece with choir. So, I was wondering.

Sweeping Strings 2,317
Belfast resident here ... have been to other Williams concerts by the UO and thoroughly enjoyed them, but the thing that makes me reluctant about buying a ticket for this one is that I've already had word that 2 events that I was due to go to this month have been postponed (and I keep seeing announcements in my Facebook newsfeed about postponements of just about every live event that was due to happen in the Waterfront and Ulster Halls this month) due to 'Covid uncertainties' and I'm basically afraid of the same thing happening with this. mahler3
ConorPower 147
Might make my way up from Dublin to attend - what a great program!! Been to a few Williams concerts here (often advertised as a Williams vs. Zimmer night ), but they've never done Terminal, Ryan, Eastwick, Fiddler or Hook from my recollection- which is a real shame. mahler3
Thor 7,385
Good luck, Tim! Wish I could program a Williams concert some day. It would be all NOT WITH MY WIFE YOU DON'T and ALCOA PREMIERE THEATRE-type stuff all night, and not an evergreen in sight! mahler3 and ConorPower 1
Jurassic Shark 11,957
Let's hope Mr. Burden gives the audience a lengthy monologue about OSTs vs. expansions. mahler3 and fommes

Hi 👋! True there is always that risk but your tickets will remain valid for any rescheduling. Hopefully see you there! :-) Sweeping Strings

mahler3 478
IMG_0866.MOV Thanks SS for your kind words and cheers Jason for the interest. Here’s a clip from final rehearsals (ET) and then a short clip from the live show featuring our Ken Wannberg dedication. Apologies for the ropey video! There will be two concerts in Dublin later this month with an even better programme. I’ll create a new post topic about it though.
