Even the randos got skills there. Honestly, some of the most rigorous journalistic standards in the whole Star Wars "Scoop" game are happening in that forum - the catch is, again, that it's only happening when it comes to news about John Williams, LOL.

 

If only some of the folks known by their cartoon twitter avatars and their mostly empty sites/blogs had that kind of follow-through.

Rando is not a system, it's a man (or woman).

As I have come to understand it (and someone can please correct me), a rando is just some random, sometimes less than savory, unknown online person.

 

The way the Reddit user uses it I think they mean that even the random, less-identifiable, unknown, low-posting user on here (generally) seems to usually know what they're talking about or add to the discussion when posting about film score stuff, which I think is generally quite true and is easily one of the most heartening aspects of this little site.

Why not Natalie Holt? I mean, of course she is no John Williams. But... who is? And so far she was not noticed for being one of those composers, who are on the mission to show us old generations what innovative things those energetic kids, that grew up with techno, can do for Star Wars.

Half of this forum is probably terrified of what a relatively unknown composer may or may not do with a theme no one's heard yet  

 

I'm not a fan of what I heard from her Loki score, but that's one project, with a particular set of requests and requirements. Means nothing about what we could get if it's indeed her on this show.

Good to have a composer confirmed, and that it's not any of my "Unholy Three" (Giacchino, Göransson, Desplat).

 

In terms of her solo score work, I think I've only sampled LOKI. That did absolutely nothing for me. I liked bits and pieces of JOURNEY'S END that she did with Hildur Gudnadottir.

 

But basically, she's a tabula rasa to me. So I'll await any judgement untill the series is out.
