Lolll yup 40 minutes ago, Jay said: I think it was just something they recorded to fill time on the album. Lucas didn't use it in the movie ok this makes a bit more sense. i have never sat through the film credits of that movie so I had no idea. but yeah, when i first heard the track The Rise of Skywalker, it reminded me of that hopeful bit I wish the ending of Revenge of the Sith credits got. Manakin Skywalker 4,890
One thing I didn't think of before; was the idea of using a new Main Title ever mentioned in any official interviews, or was this one of those "Supershadow" rumors (90's Mike Zeroh)? I understand why the Throne Room caps it off, it's conceptually ending the 6 movies for it's fans, but story wise, it doesn't really make sense and signify hope. I always took all that stuff as a "next time on Star Wars!" Bellosh

The only time I get that feeling is what he does to end the Indiana Jones end credits. It always just sounds like "until next time!"
Chen G. 3,943
What I mean is, that suite (and that part of it that features in the end-credit) is a showcase of thematic material that we will hear in the original Star Wars, which in the narrative order is the next chapter... Tellingly, that suite does not feature the love theme or the Imperial March because they're from The Empire Strikes Back, nor the theme theme associated with Luke and Leia or the Emperors, because those are from Return of the Jedi. It very deliberately refers to music from the original film as a teaser not only the "teasers" that graced the end of both the previous prequels' end-credits. Of course, its a double entendre in a way because it also allows Williams to do a victory lap with one of his personal favourite themes: the theme from the Throne Room sequence. But its also very much an attempt to tie Episode III to "Episode IV."
