No surprises there, he used the same motif in cues he wrote.

Holt is thrilled to share award nominations with only one other composer, because apparently William Ross doesn't exist anymore. Shameful!

Sorry I’m late to the party on this; can’t believe I’m just now seeing it. Absolutely insane…

Some cue information! (courtesy of Songview):

  Hide contents

Lucas Star Wars Title - William Ross

Battle Part 1 - William Ross

Battle Part 2 - William Ross

Blackbear Stops Ship Overlay - Andreas Gutuen Aaser

There's more but they're just OST titles and with only entries for William Ross it's unsure whether those are actual cues or simply the OST. Also, Andreas Gutuen Aaser has Mapuzo on his website and has a video on his Intragram performing nose flute for the cue.

Do you have/are you planning on a spreadsheet for this score?

Natalie Holt is Spitfire Audio-run Composer Magazine's composer of the year. I wish I was making this up.

"As we approach the end of 2022, there's one composer who has consistently impressed us with her passion, versatility and modesty in the face of soaring success."

Composer Magazine also took the cowardly route and blocked someone on Twitter who called out their nonsense.

Perhaps the reason that only Natalie Holt and John Williams were nominated is because - officially - William Ross adapted/conducted portions of the score rather than composing original material. That may be their justification for it.

The imdb listing only has Natalie Holt and John Williams under "series music":

William Ross is only credited under the "music department".

Which is ironic, since Ross is credited on the OST tracks!

I don’t think it’s Holt’s fault she had a bad year, but she nevertheless had a bad year and certainly not one worthy of awards.
