Such an under-appreciated score. Love the weird Caribbean synth-beat in the heroic action stuff and the massively aggressive creature music - this had a bad rep back in the day but totally outshines any contemporary stuff especially with the Intrada expansion:

Why he felt the need to do such a crappy thing at the age of 70 is another question.

I actually love this film, as I do Stephen Sommer's celebration of B movie values in general. He's somewhat of an action auteur, IMO. The score is smokin' good too -- love those streamlined 90s Goldsmith licks.

I didn't mind, for sure, but it just felt odd at the time when his peers did all those *important* big dramas.

Love the movie - fun but still manages to generate some suspense, the cast seems engaged and has some very good scenes.

Like the score a lot, but not amongst my favorite Goldsmith. As I said in one FSM thread comparing this with Leviathan:

- Deep Rising - better movie

- Leviathan - better score
