Anyone ever let their notifications pile up before finally seeing what they all are?

500 now, I guess I should give up hope on keeping up with this

How come?

I find it harder on the eyes, and has a slight Filmtracks effect with light font on dark background.

And I just find notifications useful to see where I've been quoted and where conversations are progressing.

I also hate dark mode and am weirded out by the aggressiveness of those who like it.

Agressiveness?

There's a contingent of annoying people that feel the need to pretend like light mode is some kind of moral atrocity that they can't tolerate other people preferring.  Several frequent this forum.

Huh, can't say I've ever encountered anything like that >shrug<

You are asked to state which of the emergency services you require.

To answer the thread title:

I do. Kind-of HAVE to.

I have a life outside JWFan as well.

And the notifications here pile up with 10 per second; or something like that!

How DO you fine lads and lasses here manage to keep up with it all???

I turned off notifications for PMs and I don't "follow" any threads, so the only notifications I get are for reactions and quotes

I never started "following" any threads either.

Thinking I may have the follow yer example though and find that PM notification to switch off too.

The number of emails I get tends to be... completely overwhelming.

No matter HOW good all the posts actually are.

Yup says 1001 now

Do I go for 10,000 or finally click and then go back to actually seeing what my notifications are again?

it's at 1091 now, it'll be a long time to get to 5 digits!

OK, back up to 1500 now.  Let's see if I can get to 10k without accidentally clicking it!

So late this week I passed 1700, I forget exactly how high it got, but it was maybe between 1710 and 1720 or something.

This morning I noticed it was down to 1694. So someone had been going back and removing their Reactions from posts of mine. I wonder what would drive someone to spend the time and effort to do that?

Wonder if somebody is Bloodboaling - going through their activity feed and undoing everything

I’ve been experiencing The Jay Life in miniature.  I don’t personally use Facebook anymore but I have to keep my account open because I manage the school PTO’s page.  Every few days they send me an email with how many notifications I’ve missed.  Not quite to 1700 yet but I have aspirations.
