WampaRat 1,105
Out of curiosity I was looking for a list of the top 20 Best-selling scores of all time. And I can’t seem to find one. They’re all lists of song compilation soundtracks (“The Bodyguard” is the best-seller in that category btw). Yes Titanic pops up on there usually at number 6. So I’m 99% sure that’s the number one best-selling score album. But I’d love to see where other scores fall in terms of sales. I’m sure Gladiator would be on there too. Maybe some Pink Panther and of course JWs Star Wars is on there I predict. But I’d love a list of the top-20 best-selling scores of all time. Anyone know where I could find something like that? JoeinAR 1,949
Gladiator sold 540000 units in the US so I don't think it is in a top 20 list

Bespin 8,480
Just a hint... the answer is on this website : https://www.riaa.com But we have to work... By example, Gladiator by Zimmer is Platinum in USA.

publicist 4,643
Dr. Zhivago made it to Billboard's No. 1, too. Mancini would be the most successful in terms of sales, but his are really not score albums.
Disco Stu 15,495
In the Nielsen SoundScan era when tracking of sales in America got much more accurate (from 1991 on), no score album comes close to Titanic. Horner sits between Backstreet Boys and Hootie & The Blowfish among the best selling albums of all time.

Bespin 8,480
It's hard to get all the certifications on https://www.riaa.com because of the way they were entered. With "Motion picture" keyword: https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?tab_active=default-award&se=motion+picture&col=certification_date&ord=desc#search_section With Soundtrack as artist: https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?tab_active=default-award&ar=soundtrack&ti=&lab=&genre=&format=&date_option=release&from=&to=&award=&type=&category=&adv=SEARCH#search_section Then, you have to make a search for each big "composer" (ex.: John Williams, John Barry, Henry Mancini, etc.)... Nut funny.
JoeinAR 1,949
And now with digital sales nothing is a fair comparison. Naïve Old Fart
