Of those 2 hrs, I presume 5% will be the actual Williams interview, 25% filled with the usual moderator's sermon, 45% classic John Williams soundtrack excerpts (in the typical Classic FM down-regulated sound quality), and 25% commercial adverts. So better wait for the community to digest and filter out the significant news and/or minor notions about JW's past and future work.

Popular Post crumbs 14,313
Wonder if we might get some insight into Fabelmans or Indy 5? EDIT: Should've checked the link, it'll be covered. Sounds like the score for Indy 5 is going down to the wire? Go figure. Some of the other talking points have lowered my expectations though. Do we really need to go over territory like the Jaws theme being considered a joke? The programme, which was recorded at Amblin Entertainment in Los Angeles, celebrates a career that has spanned seven decades. He discusses his career highlights, his classical influences and challenges along the way. Why was his score to Jaws met by the ultimate criticism, ‘You can’t be serious?’, from Spielberg? How was the Star Wars theme made possible by a one-take wonder trumpeter, and would he like to score a Bond film? John answers these questions across the two-hour programme as well as revealing what’s still to come from him, including writing to the wire for the latest instalment of Indiana Jones. Andy 4,126
So Indy5 went from being an extended, take your time thing to a hurry up and finish? I’m confused. Did we just make the wrong assumption that he would have lots of time to write? I supposed the picture has to be finished by a certain date, well before the release date. I’m confused. Did we just make the wrong assumption that he would have lots of time to write? I supposed the picture has to be finished by a certain date, well before the release date. On 04/07/2022 at 12:05 PM, Jay said: When they began shooting this movie in June of 2021, the film had been assigned a release date of July 29, 2022. If they had finished filming as intended by December 2021, they would have had about 7 months of post-production time until it was released. Instead, Ford got injured, a crewmember died, there might have been some covid delays as well, so by October 2021 they announced the film would be pushed back to June 2023. They finally finishing shooting in February 2022. 7 months of post-production after that would mean there was no way it will hitting the summer of 2022, so the bigwigs had to make the call to push it to summer 2023. Now, you can't just keep paying the post-production crew to now work for 16 months (from Feb 2022 to July 2023), that would inflate the budget considerably and wouldn't yield much of a different end product than the 7 months originally intended. So the film will be in the can by September-ish of this year, and everyone involved can go on to working on other projects while Disney waits to release the finished film next summer. All of this is completely normal stuff that's been happening since covid. No Time To Die, Black Widow, Jurassic World Dominion, etc etc all had their scores recorded in the original post-production window and not a later one, and all were in the can a very long time before the film's new covid-delayed release dates arrived. The Star Wars and Schindler’s List composer joins Andrew Collins, host of Classic FM’s Saturday Night at the Movies, in an interview recorded in the iconic Amblin Studios, Los Angeles. From Jurassic Park and E.T., to Indiana Jones and the magic that made Harry Potter, Williams has received 52 Academy Award nominations, making him the second most-nominated individual after Walt Disney. In this interview, Williams discusses a career that has spanned seven decades, touching on his career highlights, classical influences and challenges along the way. Why was his score to Jaws met by the ultimate criticism, ‘You can’t be serious?’ from Spielberg? How the Star Wars theme was made possible by a one-take wonder trumpeter? Nick1Ø66 4,714
You lot remind of people who go to a concert of your favorite band and complain that all they're playing are the hits you've heard a million times before. Not everyone is as obsessed as you are. People want to hear the hits. Classic FM is geared towards a general audience, who deserve to be exposed to more of William's music! And they're playing Hymm to the Fallen right now, hardly one of his popular blockbusters. I'm enjoying it. Just a 16-minute straight interview would be over too quickly, and it's nice that it's a special presentation and his comments are giving the music context.
