Wow!!!  

 

It's absolutely gorgeous, a classic Hollywood theme from the Golden age of film scoring. It sounds like Williams has been quite inspired by whatever he's seen in this film.

 

This also leans into the film noir flavour of Irina's theme from KOCS, though sweeter and less femme fatale.

I love how there’s that subtle nod to Marion’s Theme near the end, where the violins end on the vi chord, the celli soar up with that arpeggio and then the violins try again to land back home, just like at the end of Marion’s Theme.

This is gorgeous. Of course, I did not expect anything else with Williams. But like many have said it's like it comes out of a film from the Golden Age.

Wow! I'm overwhelmed by it. It is both  golden age theme and also signature JW. The flute ending is classic. It's gonna take me a few more listens to nail down the main melody, but the music sounds lovely immediately. The Marion theme quite is so interesting with story Implications. Thank you for sharing. so we currently have no idea who plays Helena and who Helena is in the story, and Mangold still is willing to let JW debut a this new character theme with some apparent nod to another iconic theme in the same franchise. 

Isn't lucasfilm/disney notorious for shutting down any potential possibility of spoiler?

very nice theme. Maybe she is the main archeological antagonist. I dont think there would be a family relation to marion… Why would marion keep her a secret? Maybe to hide the twins from the emperor…? 😅

IIRC Brian Tyler debuted his Now You See Me fanfare ahead of the release of NYSM2 in his film music concert in London, but that may be only a few weeks ahead

Listening to this makes me curious about the tone and style of the movie.

 

I'm glad it's such a full theme, full of exploration of the main melody. I found Obi Wan to be too slight. This is a well rounded JW theme.

I love this piece, it has that bittersweet classic Hollywood character.

The use of the Lydian mode at the beginning and end is very similar to the friendship theme from TROS. (0:35 and 1:16)

 

 

 

It also has some great impressionistic traits like this progression:

James Mangold is quite a classy and cultured guy. I hope he treats Williams' music with respect it deserves.

Wow, that was gorgeous. One of the most beautiful things I've heard from Williams in years. I loved every minute of it, and the hint's of Marion's theme...chills. And it definitely gives off the old-time Hollywood vibe, especially early going. All that's missing is the popping sound from the film reel.

Yes! The friendship theme immediately sprang to mind after I heard Helena's. It gives the score a sense of progression from TROS.

I've really liked the style of TROS so here's hope more similarities are underway

Williams is such a master at fusing the Golden Age Hollywood sound with his own and making it so thoroughly and effortlessly his own. He is indeed the successor of those early film music giants and as Mangold says it that above tweet, bringing this particular pure symphony orchestra sound to modern audiences. Such a gorgeous theme.

This piece is basically a mix of TROS friendship theme, Marion's theme, Debussy-like impressionism and Hollywood classical style! Amazing!

I was at the 1996 Tanglewood concert where he performed “Hell’s Kitchen” from Sleepers with the Boston Pops two months ahead of the film’s release.
