The Fabelmans - OST Album

Another intermediate stage is the spreading of similar anouncements of the actual start of work at different points in time and locations, like..."when I return from Vienna/Berlin in a couple of days/weeks I will start working on...", leading to further confusion about the score's actual status.

One of the Polish online stores (reliable one, I've bought from them many times) announces that there will be a physical release.

CD will be released on December 9 (Sony Music Entertainment)

Fantastic! Now the only thing to worry about is whether there'll be a way to get it by release day.

All this confirms is that Sony is releasing a physical CD edition in Europe.

It doesn't tell us anything about a USA/CAN physical CD.

I'll be importing the EU CD if no NA release is announced

I would wager significant amounts of money that I am right

Well, that might go some way to making up for all the bowel-loosening shipping costs, import duties and other random charges us poor peasants in the Olde Worlde have to shell out for every time we want to buy a single CD of a decades-old score that’s been mildly expanded.

Apologies for my bitterness.

This score is so short that Williams managed to conduct all of it alone, without needing the help of William Ross - unlike the Star Wars sequels 😅

That's the meanest thing I read today!

It’s bittersweet knowing that this could be the last artwork reveal for a SS/JW collaboration we ever get to enjoy. I wish I’d been in a more appropriate place than a supermarket checkout line when I first laid eyes on this.

Are the classical pieces conducted by williams or are sourced from other places?

Conducted?  These are piano solos.  Michelle Williams' character plays them in the film.

The Amazon entry indicate that Joanne Pearce Martin plays them here.

Not so excited about the inclusion of classical pieces.

I generally don't like "mixed" osts.

What if the score itself is really short?

There's no "what if" about it - everyone who saw the film at TIFF who mentioned the music commented that there is very little of it in the film

Why not??

My experience with songs and classical pieces on OST albums is that they distract from the actual original score. I don't like when I'm hearing the music composed for the film and then that is interrupted by a 10-minute long classical piece or (even worst) a pop song. It's bad for my listening experience. But that's just my own opinion, I'm sure some people can more easily integrate these other pieces.

Oh, I just noticed this on the Amazon US entry:

"Run time ‏ : ‎ 31 minutes"

Assuming that is somewhat close to complete, would that make this the shortest Williams score ever?
