I only just realized now that they are not showing the nominees in the audience as the winner is about to be revealed. I don't think JW's been on camera since the monologue

You know what, Williams has nothing left to prove, but for fuck sake can't they just give him this one last one.

The work speaks for itself. Golden statues say nothing.

Memoirs is still the one that was the most bullshit for him to lose

Not really. The movie wasn't well received overall

They saw him peeling out in the parking lot to go home after the monologue and they decided not to give it to him.

"At 91, sitting through a 3.5 hour SNL awards sketch is a big ask."

Why is everyone freaking out about textural scoring nowadays?

I immediately YouTubed the first track on All Quiet's soundtrack.

What in the ever loving fuck? No way this is listenable. Please tell me it gets better.

No it doesn't

Well to be fair Fableman's isn't one of Williams most memorable scores but if there was a year to give him another Oscar it was this year.

War Horse losing to The Artist was a bigger snub.  Fuck Harvey Weinstein (everyone who liked that score loves Harvey Weinstein)

It's beyond overplayed by now.  Since like 2011 it's gotten more and more prevalent

I was told that if Lady Gaga didn't perform tonight (it was unclear if she did until earlier today) a tribute to John Williams' music would have taken place.

That probably would've made the loss worse if this did happen tbh

Have you listened to All Quiet?

I saw the movie the other day and didn't even remember that 3 note motif

So "actors don't like bombastic music" is the number one theory why the academy doesn't like JW right? (They're made up largely of actors)

Well if Alan Rickman's diaries were anything to go by

Take heart, good JWfan.

JW already holds two Oscars ™ records.

The winner of this year's award is, at best, an answer to a pup quiz question, whose name will not be remembered in one year's time, while JW will always be

"John fucking Williams"!

John Williams is there with his daughter as we just saw while Kimmel did this weird question round?

Oh man I didn't notice JW was in that shot!

I swear everything Spielberg has done since 2010 is just academy fodder.  does Fablemans actually have a chance of winning best picture?

Remember, Goldsmith only won once.

Horner* and Elmer Bernstein too.

*Yeah, I know he also won for Best Song, but I was talking about the Original Score award.
