I'm asking after this section from the TLJ OST (cut from the film), around the 3-minute mark of the first track. (See also: crumbs' excellent reassembly of the sequence, restoring the music.) It's the Resistance motif cast into a fresh meter not heard in TFA.

I hear this:

But I'm not good at counting, so I'm not sure. Cast a vote, help me out?

Thank you for sharing! Those are some awfully specific triplets. When you say "actually written," do you mean that if I burgled JoAnn Kane, this is what I would find?

EDIT: and if you just did this by ear, please share your secrets to success :)

Yes, but be careful. ;)

My two cents: the rhythm is a little ambiguous. Ask a bunch of professional musicians to transcribe this and I bet you half of them will get it wrong.

Coming soon: The JWFan Transcription Competition 😁

Maybe the best part of the whole score

I was holding my breath in theaters, waiting for it. I remember feeling sad, "oh, did I miss it?"

It's still kind of my favorite slice of music in the whole trilogy lol

I feel guilty but I think the imagined gimmick in my head has given it a huge leg up ("Spiciest development of the resistance motif in the sequel trilogy"). Still — even if it's solidly 3/4 throughout, it's an extraordinary shake-up, more distinctive than most of the other uses of the motif in TLJ. (And the other uses don't slouch.)
