Garrett 39
John Williams has now written two themes for football. Which one is better? BB-8

artguy360 1673
Of Grit and Glory is more celebratory while Wide Receiver is more evocative of hard-hitting football.
igger6 761
"Wide Receiver" sounds more cohesively ripped off from his Nazi/Trade Federation material and foreshadowing of his Resistance material, but it's also got a multi-line hook, while "Grit and Glory" pinches more tasteful fingerfuls from various celebratory Williams pieces for a more original whole. Not sure where that leaves them in the horse race, though. I need more time. BB-8

Will 2123
The main melody of "Wide Receiver" is brilliant and memorable, but overall it's "Of Grit and Glory" by a mile. Such a great piece. One small touch that I love: How JW (presumably intentionally) synced his music with Peter Warrick singing his name. Beautiful. Thor 5793
For the moment, the "Sunday Night Football" (or "Wide Receiver") theme is in a whole other league (no pun intended). It's lean and mean, whereas this new piece is fine, but more all-over-the-place. But obviously, I'll await final judgement until I've heard it without dialogue and sound effects. Jurassic Shark 9331
Great dialogue and sound effects. Has the whole piece been posted? If so, please do the same in the first post of this thread, @Garrett. I guess I'll have to do it myself.

Jurassic Shark 9331
Funny that this poll is anonymous. 1 hour ago, Thor said: For the moment, the "Sunday Night Football" (or "Wide Receiver") theme is in a whole other league (no pun intended). Of Grit and Glory is like a prequel to Wide Receiver.

Popular Post MrJosh 651
good thing The Football Game from John Goldfarb isn't in the poll, it'd be the clear winner! bigjimwilson, Andy and Jurassic Shark
Jurassic Shark 9331
Someone with the skills and time should replace the audio with The Football Game from Goldfarb and the voice of the guy at 0:34 with Yoda's. BB-8
Tom 3373
It is amazing how different these two pieces are, all things considered. I like the uplifting nature of Grit and Glory and the badassness of Wide Receiver. I vote that they are perfectly equal. BrotherSound
