Thor 8,200
Amazing to think that he has a whole slew of concerts lined up in 2023 (including one in Japan!), a tentpole movie score (INDY 5) and other bits and bobs for the concert scene. When my grandfather was 91, he had been dead for 6 years! So incredible stamina. Happy birthday to my alltime favourite composer! A few months more, and he's surpassed Morricone in terms of sheer activity at 91. Bayesian and Naïve Old Fart

Popular Post Andy 5,069
Happy, Happy Birthday, Maestro. You are remarkable. You never cease to amaze and inspire me. Milan, L.A., NY, Chicago, Japan, Tanglewood, etc. This is a world tour on the level of a person in their 20s. The gifts keep coming with Grit and Glory, Fabelmans, Indy5, more concert works. Don’t stop! Can’t stop! Won’t stop! You are my favorite artist of any media. Cheers, thank you, and here’s to many more happy years and wonderful music. I plan on crying many happy tears today. bruckhorn 111
Happy Birthday to the Maestro. Got the John Williams playlist going on shuffle today. "Han Solo and the Princess" currently. Thought about wearing a turtleneck, but with my neck being as thick as it is... That and the fact that there's only one man who can rock a turtleneck and make the ladies swoon. And he's 91 today. Bayesian 1,427
91 and going as strong as ever. We are so lucky to be on the receiving end of such munificence. The best part is that JW isn’t toiling away in obscurity or rushing to get down on paper as much as possible before he dies. He’s already given the world the fruits of the labor of two or three men and has nothing left to prove. Everything he’s done from Vienna and Berlin onward has seemed like a victory lap. It’s absolutely rarefied territory he operates in now and no one else in his field is ever going to reach it. Falstaft and Stark

Damien F 1,773
Happy Birthday to Maestro John Williams! Absolutely incredible that he is still doing scores and concerts. We are truly very lucky. I celebrated with a 6 hour playlist of one track from every JW score I own. It was quite the musical journey through time starting with the theme to Checkmate and ending with The Journey Begins from The Fabelmans. Stark 519
As unfortunate as it is that all of the other composers of that era are dead or effectively retired (Shire, Conti, etc), I can’t complain that Williams is the one elder composer who lasts at the highest level.
