Popular Post JoeinAR 1,934
I will conduct/tabulate a 3rd Top 10 John Williams score this August. 2023. I did this in 2003 and 2013. I want to wait until August 2023 for one important reason . I want to give John his due for the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny The maestro has put significant time and effort into this score. and we as fans need time to absorb and process his latest score. In my mind its the right thing to do. In august we can begin the discussion. The rules will.be simple. Each member will post his top 10 scores As to the scores I will only accept a single score not a series i expect weird results this time around. JoeinAR 1,934
Jay for some.reason this posted twice. As to why i think results will be weird. The younger crowd does not have the obsession to the 74 to the 84 films that the plus 40 crowd does

Sandor 710
My personal Top 10 John Williams' scores has remained unchanged for about 20 years now. Although I have high hopes for The Dial Of Destiny score, I doubt it will shake things up at the very top. 1. Star Wars (1977) 2. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) 3. Schindler's List (1993) 4. Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) 5. Superman The Movie (1978) 6. The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 7. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977) 8. Jaws (1975) 9. Jurassic Park (1993) 10. filmmusic 1,595
Yeah, I also doubt the new Indy score will be in my top 10, or even top 20-30 Williams scores. I think the material has been exhausted, there's nothing really new to add to this. And I was not fond at all of Helena's theme.
Edmilson 5,674
A trailer for an upcoming thread! Cool! I'll give a spoiler of my list: if by August a complete and chronological The Patriot is already released, it'll be in my top 5 JoeinAR and Smeltington 1
Popular Post JoeinAR 1,934
Look back in 1982 I conducted a similar poll. I said I would wait for the release of E.T. the Extraterrestrial. Folks said and I quote " I seriously doubt this score for E.T. will rival ESB or Raiders of the Lost Ark." John has proven the skeptics wrong before. Bespin 7,566
I'll probably will be the only one to include The Reivers! Remember that it's the score Spielberg mention that made him wanting to work with John Williams... Just saying that.

Thanks, @filmmusic. CINDERELLA LIBERTY was only the third JW soundtrack that I bought. I love it's bright and breezy sound, the light pop arrangements, and it's upbeat tone. For me, it's a special piece of work. Schilkeman
