I hadn’t seen it there either - I was looking.  It’s possible that this wasn’t on a Waxwork post - it could have been somebody else’s post and Waxwork was tagged in with the mention, or perhaps on a share of a Waxwork post (not the original post).

Further investigation shows that Justin fella is one of the Epic Film Guys, so for some reason he's restricted who can see his comment but then screenshotted and shared it publicly on twitter? But even then it's still weird that a comment that's meant to be restricted can be found through Google.

Really great score from Elfman and definitely enough to make a smaller album. The music for Delores was great but unfortunately the songs really ruined what would have been a score of the year candidate.

He contributed the original score that you heard in the film.

 

The is no controversy. There's an official soundtrack album that contains song and two Elfman score cuts.

 

There has been no separate, score-only album announced.

Beetlejuice’s introduction had great music. There were multiple cue’s with Lydia Discovers and Delores had a really cool theme and cool music when she got the dress at the dry cleaners. There’s no reason you can’t make an album out of this score.

Hm. It is obviously heavily inspired by or even referencing Mancini's Baby Elefant Walk. And I don't like Elfman's habit of adapting things but not crediting them.

But apart from that it's a nice cue.

It turned out to be a private screening. The cinema owner said he would have to cancel the show if I remained the only guest. I asked if the show could go on with a minimum of two people. He said yes, whereupon I offered to pay double. And so it happened.

 

I really liked the way Elfman's score was given real prominence at the beginning of the film.

Reminds me of the 80s, when I was often the only person in the cinema, watching old movies in Saturday matinees. The projectionist couldn't have been too happy about that annoying kid.

There are no randos in the street in the place I live in, only people driving their (E-)SUVs back home to their Dolby-Atmos home cinemas (where randomness unfolds).

It’s based on the song Casey Junior from the original Dumbo and Washington/Churchill are credited in the booklet.

I just came back from the film and, unless I missed it, the end credits indicated the score was 'produced' by Danny Elfman, not composed by him. There were a number of arrangers and other individuals credited. Not sure if this is the norm as of late but I haven't noticed this previously. I recall Chris Bacon was one of the other names mentioned toward the top of the list.

 

Musically, there were some good throwbacks and other cues I would like to hear more of outside of the film.

That's wild. I've had the theater to myself too many times to count and I can't imagine why they would turn away a paying customer. What else are they gonna do with that theater for 2 hours?

I worked at a theater and we would run anything that sold (assuming the people got there timely for a movie - we couldn’t break the schedule, projection/threading gaps, etc. because nobody came except someone 15 minutes late.)

 

BUT, the cost of the ticket wouldn’t cover the cost of electricity to project the thing.  You just gotta hope they buy a big soda or something.

The opening credits said "Music By Danny Elfman".  They don't need to repeat that again in the end credits

Sure but isn't the idea that some showings will sell enough to cover the cost of others that don't get enough of an audience?

Yeah, it all nets out in the end - but logistically, that showing wouldn’t make money, especially after the studios take their cut of the ticket.
