It's such a great piece—practically a theme in its own right. Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that it will ever be used . The Hunt is probably THE best track on the entire bloody soundtrack. And it's a BLOODY INCREDIBLY GOOD SOUNDTRACK! It going unused in the movie is a travesty. Honestly, I thought Spielberg had better taste than to just cut-and-paste music from elsewhere in another scene like he's George Lucas going DotF-crazy or something. jackfiszr

Fits the scene surprisingly well, even the ebb and flow is pretty spot on. I like MG generally, but his Jurassic World scores remain underwhelming to me (all those blocky, clunky orchestration so many of his scores have suffered from in recent years)... of course, given the "hilarious" pun track titles, I can't even work out which track this is on the actual JW soundtrack album. I find the first one really clunky and all over the place, and pretty badly recorded too, but I thought Gia got better with each one. I love FK's gothic sound and while Dominion is really overlong on album, I think he's found his sound by then. If this film could either be Gia or Tyler/similar.... show me Gia. But if we can have anyone, then McCreary, Powell or JNH please.

Does the quality of the movie really matter that much? We would get new Williams's music in any event. I enjoy the Star Wars sequel scores, even though I think the movies are an abomination. Let's face it--movies that do not suck are rare, so let's not have Williams hold off for one of those. All that being said, there is no way that he is scoring this. We don’t know quite yet if it will really bad that bad. I mean, they brought back David Koepp, so that’s a good sign. And as Tom said, even if it is bad, that doesn’t take away from whatever John Williams could write. Not all good films have good music, and not all bad films have bad music. Of course, my hope is that this films ends up being good in both regards. Only time (and my opinion) will tell. Stark
Richard P 4,624
If JW saw it and liked something about it (the only reason he'd score anything now), then it would be his choice. No one's forcing Williams to write a score. And if we're going by JW-scored movies that look absolutely godawful or went through editorial hell, I suspect a large handful of films would like to have a chat. Plus, who here is going to argue against Williams producing a masterpiece even if the movie's crap? (I would, but that's not my point) Paul M. Grenon
Nick1Ø66 6,507
JW has scored some crap films. I don't know if that alone would keep him away from it. I just don't know, thematically, what more about this material is there for him to say, as an artist? Why would he choose this tired film to return to this world? Popular Post Bayesian 1,506
The arguments folks made after my last post would have merit if the dude wasn't 93 years old and recovering from an ailment or accident that has waylaid him for the better part of a year now. At this point, if a movie crosses his desk that isn't directed by Spielberg, JW should genuinely stay the hell away from it. Spielberg knows and respects how JW works and won't send him to his grave with endless rewrites because some studio dickhead decided to focus-group every scene a half-dozen times to make sure not to offend the Chinese moviegoing market. Are we failing to remember the (apparently) miserable time JW had working on TROS? Or the shit that half the forum here tried to give him because he artfully reused a small amount of his previous work for a small amount of running time in DOD? And do you think the man really is going to be looking forward to writing yet another action score?? I mean, who knows, maybe he will and, if so, I will assuredly look forward to it and eat my hearty helping of crow. But personally, I just want him to get well enough to conduct in Berlin, score Spielberg's UFO movie, and complete some additional personal projects (L.A. '28 Olympic theme?? Another concerto?? Something for the 2026 opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art??) at a pace that befits a nonagenarian. Naïve Old Fart 11,230
I hate to say this, but JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH is going to be dog shite. It might be entertaining dog shite, but, nevertheless, it will be dog shite. People don't go to Jurassic Park movies to have the secrets of the universe unlocked for them. They go for one reason, and one reason only: they want to see people menaced by dinosaurs. That's all. JW will not have anything to do with this.
Richard P 4,624
I'd apply much the same to TLW - lots of dinosaurs eating people and general stupidity. Yet we got a JW classic. Maybe he doesn't care as much about movies being silly as some here do. Edmilson and Paul M. Grenon
