mstrox 7,369 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 There are quite a few - I’m not sure there are “more” early reader or middle grade books than in the pre-Disney years, but they all appear to be marketed as part of the main line as opposed to a subseries like Young Jedi Knights. They’ve released a handful of YA books under Disney, which I don’t think was a reading market that was served under Lucas. 75% of the stuff they’ve released over the past 5 years has been The High Republic, which has, from what I’ve read at least, been pretty boring.
Bespin Copilot 10,900 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Someone posted this review on a Facebook page I follow. I thought it was relevant. Translation : Quote "So there, Mando goes 'pow pow,' then Grogu goes 'coooo,' and the rest of us go 'ahhhhh,' then Mando goes 'pow pow' again, then the spaceship goes big pow pow, but then Grogu again goes 'coooo,' so the rest of us again go 'aaaaahhhhh,' then there's a big monster, and Mando goes pow pow POW, but Grogu also goes pow pow, so the rest of us go 'aahhhh,' then there's another big monster, but also a big robot going pow pow. Then everybody goes pow pow and the rest of us go 'yaaay,' then Grogu goes 'coooo,' then we go 'ahhhh,' and that's it. This is the way, apparently." Smeltington 1

I’ve read Light of the Jedi, Into the Dark, and The Rising Storm - and all the THR and THR Adventures comics including minis and one-offs, except for Pathfinders which I believe is still ongoing but I haven’t gotten through the pile to read the early issues yet. I usually sprinkle one SW book every month or two into my regular reading, but I’m stuck in the middle of reading TNJO at the moment and not enjoying it much, so I might just throw in the towel entirely and read real books, stick to comics for SW. Gabriel Bezerra 800 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Yeah, Light of the Jedi remains the best out of Phase 1. I didn't really connect with The Rising Storm, Into the Dark kind of, but I think it meanders a little in the middle. Out of the Shadows is a bit better at this, and I forgot most of Midnight Horizon. I disliked The Fallen Star, it's just misery porn, "oh, I like this character" *dead*. Phase 2 is still being published here, but I liked Path of Deceit.

Parker Luciani 10,318 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 All I'll say is that I recently re-read the latter half of the NJO recently (Destiny's Way through The Final Prophecy) and enjoyed it.

King Mark 4,019 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Well that was a mid movie I'll forget in about a week. Apart from a few cool renditions of the Mando theme, the score sucked. At some point I was expecting Sigouney Weaver to say "why am I in the movie?" Smeltington and D_A_R_T_H 1 1

Armenian Money Train 11,254 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Rough Trade, the merchant who sold this to me, is really weird and potentially bad at this. They sent me a notification through this stupid "Shop" app that the CD has been "delivered", but I haven't received it. And the Royal Mail tracking number they provided to me has no info available. I contacted them about it and all I got was some stupid automated reply that said "Good news! Your item has been delivered." I replied "where is it? I don't have it". They haven't responded to that yet.
crocodile 9,801 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Received my CD just now. Annoyingly, it contains only 20 tracks and not 21 like the digital release. I was hoping that would be only for Japanese release but it clearly isn't. Which is pointless because everything would fit on one disc: Karol Andy, Chewy and Jay 2 1

Luke Skywalker 2,408 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 wow, that "Made in Germany" label has strong 90's bootleg vibes.
Smeltington 2,032 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 That same sticker was on one of the Deutsche Grammophon releases I bought, probably the Violin Concerto No. 2 blu-ray.
