Popular Post Edmilson 10,994 Posted February 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 24, 2024 Another GoT spin-off is coming out in late 2025. https://tvline.com/news/game-of-thrones-knight-of-the-seven-kingdoms-season-1-release-date-hbo-max-1235172818/ The prequel was formally announced in April 2023. The series will be written and executive-produced by Martin and Ira Parker. Ryan Condal, who currently serves as House of the Dragon‘s showrunner, and Vince Gerardis also will be EPs. “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros,” the previously released official logline reads. “A young, naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall” (aka Dunk) “and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends. pete, Yavar Moradi, Mr. Who and 1 other 2 2
Mr. Who 1,031 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 The novellas from which this show will be based on are great. The storytelling takes place on a much smaller scale than GOT and HOTD and we get to see different sides of Westeros and its people. This show can turn out really well if they get the casting right for Duncan and ‘Egg’ and if they keep it on the smaller scale of the source material and don’t try to make it into a HOTD/GOT type show. I’m very curious how they will adapt the second novella as that story is directly related to the outcome of the Blackfyre Rebellions which I hope will be adapted in a later season of HOTD after the Dance of Dragons period is finished. Fargo 301 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 God I love those little books - such a fun and pretty quick read. Dunk is the GOAT Yavar Moradi and Edmilson 2
Edmilson 10,994 Posted February 24, 2024 Author Posted February 24, 2024 Yeah, the books are pretty entertaining. Very "Martin-y" but without all the gruesomeness Fargo 1
Jay 43,901 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 The “Game of Thrones” spinoff “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” has added seven new cast members. Edward Ashley (“Masters of the Air”) as Ser Steffon Fossoway Henry Ashton (“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” and “My Lady Jane”) as Daeron Targaryen Youssef Kerkour (“House of Gucci”) as Steely Pate Daniel Monks (Netflix’s upcoming film “Kaos”) as Ser Manfred Dondarrion Shaun Thomas (“How to Have Sex”) as Raymun Fossoway Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (“Avengers: Infinity War”) as Plummer Danny Webb (HBO’s “The Regime” and “The Dig”) as Ser Arlan of Pennytree For fans who recently finished Season 2 of “House of the Dragon,” the Daeron in “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is different than the one in the prequel series — just like how there are multiple Aegons in Westeros history. They join stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire Egg. The series, set to air next year, is set 100 years before the main “Game of Thrones” story and 100 years after the prequel “House of the Dragon.”
Docteur Qui 1,581 Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 This really takes the sting out of waiting another 2 years for the next season of HotD. I love Dunk and Egg, bring it on!

Jay 43,901 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 HBO already announced a while ago that it was pushed back from 2025 to 2026, I guess that news was never shared here
tomsmoviemadness 4,432 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 So it appears that Dan Romer is scoring this. First time a project from ASOIAF is not scored by Djawadi. https://www.instagram.com/share/p/_uKHRcp1L Can't say I'm too happy about this. No idea what it's gonna sound like, but I guess we'll see. Or hear. Knight of Ren and Mr. Who 2

Or hear. This is extremely disappointing news. I guess there goes the concept of thematic continuity in all of the Westeros scores. There are quite a number of themes which would have been logical to use in this show. tomsmoviemadness 1
tomsmoviemadness 4,432 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I enjoy Romer's music. I really like Wendy & Luca. But his sound, to me doesn't fit with ASOIAF after Djawadi has made it his own for over 14 years. I could very well be surprised, but right now, I don'r like it.
Knight of Ren 1,329 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Well that's... disappointing. I've enjoyed some of Romer's scores, and I think he can deliver a fine score, but what I fear is that he will completely ignore all of Djawadi's themes and style. I agree that it's such a specific sound he has crafted for this universe over the years, and it would be a shame if it was just thrown away. Let's see how this turns out, but at least we got Season 3 of House of the Dragon to look forward to in terms of new Djawadi music for this universe. tomsmoviemadness 1
Mephariel 593 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I wouldn't say I am excited by Romer but I am definitely curious to see what he comes up with for this. He doesn't really have a define template for fantasy scoring yet.
Jay 43,901 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Begins airing Sunday, January 18th, for six weekly episodes concluding on Sunday February 22nd.
