EBay would definitely label me a consumer... A member since 1998.

I have no idea what this is in reference to, but I'm probably 50-50. Consume a lot of stuff - from film music to beer and beyond - but also create (my writing, for example).

I’ve created things for my work you people wouldn’t believe.  Outer space simulations off the shoulder of NASA.  I’ve watched projection beams glitter in the dark at Kodak Center.  All those moments will be lost in time.   Like dust on Mars.
Time to retire.

Where do I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I don't understand.

What is meant by "creator"?

(and, please... no ST: TMP quotes)

Do you spend your time being creative, or consuming stuff others have created?

With my work, I am allowed a lot of creativity.  I’m lucky in that regard. But in my spare time, I consume.  If I were retired, I like to think the percentages would shift. But the modern capitalist society that has us all by the nuts doesn’t really allow for time to be creative, or peaceful time for the mind to cultivate creative ideas.

I am primarily a consumer, even though I still have 5 Charles Aznavour's CD boxsets to my credit, as a consultant for the content and quality assurance of it.

Interesting thoughts.

Love to hear your own on this.  Was there something you had in mind creating the poll?

I've got a lot of books, CDs, and bluray/DVDs that I very rarely have time to nor get peace to digest. And when I do have time and peace, I usually choose a creative activity instead.

It’s arguably healthier to be creative. I actually believe that’s the meaning of life itself, where true happiness comes from.

It’s just messed up how society doesn’t really breed innovators, but consumers.  There are of course some who are creative, but the goal in life is usually wealth, which buys you things to consume.

Some people have it figured out better than most.

Would love to see or hear what creative projects you work on. I always like seeing the talent our community has.

That, and helping others. You'll never go wrong helping others. But creative pursuits—and I'm talking about the more ambitious stuff—can lead to major disappointment.

I'm not saying don't try, but to be realistic about one's expectations and the chances of things not going to plan. People have been destroyed by relentlessly following their dreams.

Well, have a nice day all.
