Star Wars Prequel Trilogy COMPLETE SOUNDTRACKS (Fan Edit)

Since we're likely not getting officially released versions of the complete soundtracks from Star Wars Episodes I-III, VII-IX for at least the next few years (or not at all), I've decided to start making what I imagine those soundtracks would be like if released.

I've always loved the 1997 Special Edition releases of the Original Trilogy soundtracks, because they were mostly complete (way better than the OSTs anyway), featured the cues in chronological order, and put them together into longer tracks.

Because I'm not going to have my Star Wars albums contain giant lists with over 50 minute-long tracks.

NOTES: This is a WORK IN PROGRESS. I'd love suggestions on better track names/better edits. I've tried to combine the cues together as best I can, so there wouldn't be too many awkward transitions. Additionally, I am placing the concert suites at the beginning, because I never liked how they showed up at the beginning of the second disk on the Special Editions, which puts them in the middle if you combine both disks into 1 album.

I have the list of tracks with their times, names, and respective cues here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_CHSV283gXWoIMITVUwXYjr2f8AtpTXeqM9h0GwoZ7U/edit?usp=sharing

If anyone has a track they would like for me to share, I can send it in this post; I just don't want to upload like 60 tracks right now :)

Feedback on names and better places to edit (because i"m bothered by how long some of these are, but seperating the cues makes them too short) would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not the biggest fan of the special edition album format, but it's a cool idea for a fanedit project.

I think for TPM your tracks mostly make sense, my only suggestion would be to combine Gone Fishing, Darth Sidious and Monsters Back, since they all deal with the bongo ride. Then the Introducing Jar Jar/Bubble World stuff can be its own track, and so can all the Theed stuff.

Aren't Gone Fishing and Darth Sidious separated by a few seconds of silence in the film?

I think you missed one cue on Revenge of the Sith, 6M9 Revenge of the Sith is the film cue of the last part of Anakin and Obi-Wans battle. Battle of Heroes on the OST is a concert version.

They are the same recording though; the OST recording just has an opening and ending extension. To include both would be to duplicate 3 minutes of music.

Then again that music is already duplicated in the end credits as well (which features the non-extension film ending)

And it's not like the special edition albums are known for being 100% complete ;)

That's true, but so are Through The Slave Quarters and Running Out Of Time, so are all of the podracing cues, etc. @Jofi_Correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed like you were grouping cues based on what made the most sense from a storytelling perspective, not necessarily based on JW's intended segues

Did not know that. I always thought they where completely different recordings.

I was mostly trying to be respective to the intended segues, but I also tried to make the transitions sound good going from 1 cue to the next - Through the Slave Quarters ends on the same note that Running out of Time starts on, so it just made sense from a musical standpoint.

(transition around 5:15)

Also if I started seperating cues based on whether they segue or not, I feel like I'd have a lot closer to an album full of cues instead of longer tracks to enjoy listening to.

I'm not sure, do the OT special editions follow any sort of rule for when to start and end tracks?

I was thinking of doing that, but Bubble World does segue directly into Gone Fishing, so I wanted to keep those together. Combining Darth SIdious and Monsters Back isn't a bad idea though.

The thing with putitng Sidious after Gone Fishing is just that the transition feels a little awkward, with Gone Fishing ending on an F# ,and then going up a half step to G for the start of Darth Sidious.

Yeah I think most sources including videogames usually just use the OST edit. IIRC the only place to even get a "clean" ending for the film version is from the end credits.

But yeah there's even an alternate opening extension that was discovered 2 years ago when it was featured in that Abbey Road documentary

I'm really wondering (especially for ROTS) should I be using the intended film segues and combine certain cues together? (such as how Padme's Visit transitions right into Heroes Collide).

It sounds great, the thing is from a listening perspective, I've always heard Heroes Collide as its own track (as Anakin vs. Obi-Wan on the OST), and I don't like putting it at the end of what is (mostly) a much more boring piece to listen to.

But it also feels wierd to have Padme's Visit end, and then the next track starts with what so obviously sounds like an intended segue (because it is).

So i don't know what to do...

Reminds me of the OST track "Theme from Jurassic Park", which has the horn intro and outro but the middle section is the same exact cue as heard in the film when Hammond, Grant, and Sattler are looking at the dinosaurs.
