karelm is referencing a prior thread a few years ago where a user came here and started a thread asking for help with his thesis.

 

The title of the thread (which now seems to be unsearchable) was "can u help me with my thesis?"...  which already wasn't a great start to the thread.  He asked the people of JWFan to go through the whole first Harry Potter film to get the timecodes for each statement of each theme in the film; JWFan responded with confusion as to why he didn't want to do it himself...  followed by around a dozen posts of people joking about the thread.

 

The user who started the thread became...  more than a little upset at this...  And now that thread has gone down in infamy on JWFan.

It's quite sad that our mods keep deleting those threads, as a shameful memory swept under the rug in an attempt to fool everyone that it didn't happen and it was all a dream.

 

Some of the funniest threads in the forum are like this. They bring happy and joyful memories! Shouldn't be deleted to oblivion like this.
