I don't understand what this is. A collection of Williams photos made into stickers?

Posted

So Cláudio Leyria beat Tim Greiving in publishing an English language biography on JW. Congrats! :ola:

While we're on the topic of stickers: when I searched for this book online, I found this site with stickers of album covers. I didn't know this is a thing.

It's… a sticker album… without stickers?

I'm not going to lie, I saw the title and got excited. I thought, my kid love stickers and have been into JW, I'll print some off and they'll love it!

It's a collection of Williams photos made into something that looks like somebody already collected all the stickers and put them in.

This would be fun if we could actually print it and then "collect" (or at least randomly draw from our printed heap) the stickers and get excited about putting them in… but they're already printed where you're supposed to put them. You'd have to do some extra work to remove all of them or at least make them black and white, or blurry, or something.

This… I want it to be a real physical thing.  Definitely got the old school Panini vibes off of this.  Dang I wish there were a real set like this, or a set of trading cards.

Love the irony between the lines on page 26!

I'm not really sure if that's accurate at all.

Looks like it is, unless the below is fake:

P.S. I wouldn't agree with what is said about VPO vs BPO. I take this as irony.

I was referring to what was said regarding the Vienna and Berlin orchestras ;)

Sounds a bit like the HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE sticker comic book I had as a kid. Genius marketing strategy. Had to buy bubblegum with the stickers inside (that sometimes formed a whole panel, or parts of it) to complete the story. Of course, I wasn't aware of the cynical marketing at the time; I just gobbled it all up (literally).

This is amazing what a trip!

I loved these as a kid and this took me right back.

Now to comb through and see if there's anything for the chronology project hidden in here :)

If it's post-eye surgery Williams, he needs be older too. Add wrinkles.

That looks more like George Lucas getting blown away by the opening blast to Star Wars Episode IV.

Each picture is a sticker

He has a widow's peak. But don't blame the colorist, he was just following the lines. :)

This is really fun and beautifully done!  I don't wish to appear ungrateful, but perhaps someone who knows Cláudio Leyria could mention that there are two page 20s (page 19 is missing).
