Naïve Old Fart 12,881 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 Go on, release your inner veggie-basher. What vegetables do you not like, and why? What vegetables could they not pay you enough, to eat? Share with us, and gain strength from the sharing. Bespin Copilot 1
Naïve Old Fart 12,881 Posted July 15, 2025 Author Posted July 15, 2025 I don't mind vegetables, but I always look forward to eating broccoli more than I actually like eating it. Strange... but I really like it in broccoli and Stilton soup.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,173 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 Green Beans for dinner tonight, with potatoes and a bit of chicken breast.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,173 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 Do you take supplements? Extra vitamins?
Popular Post Edmilson 12,209 Posted July 15, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 15, 2025 The only vegetable I don't like at all is this: It's "jiló" in Portuguese. In English, according to Google Translate, it is called "okra", but apparently this word also refers to this... ... which I do like. We have a traditional dish here where it's this ("quiabo") mixed with chicken. Similar to this: Jay, Nick1Ø66 and Naïve Old Fart 1 2
Naïve Old Fart 12,881 Posted July 15, 2025 Author Posted July 15, 2025 I love okra. Lady's fingers are yummy.
Richard P 5,241 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 I'm a bit of a fussy eater (I actually match many symptoms of ARFID), but oddly veggies aren't an issue for me. I tried parsnips once and really wasn't a fan, but otherwise I'm fine with most standard ones - peas, sweetcorn, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce (in a sub). I've known people who like other things I don't, but won't go near a vegetable.

Sweeping Strings 3,381 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Don't like the texture or taste of courgette/zucchini and aubergine/eggplant. And whilst I like cauliflower, people need to stop pretending that there's a 'steak' of it or that it makes an acceptable pizza base.

Nick1Ø66 8,119 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Aaaaaaashkuly, the food pyramid is indeed a lie. One of many rubbish lies (like artificial fat-free anything) we’ve been told about nutrition. But eating your vegetables isn’t one of them. So eat your vegetables Drax. Or don’t, and make Jason happy. Your choice. enderdrag64 1
Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 No need for any of that plant-based carby crap.

Popular Post Bespin Copilot 10,731 Posted July 16, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2025 Though refined carbs can harm your metabolism, it’s actually skipping vegetables, and losing out on their fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients, that most directly raises your risk of heart disease, colorectal cancer, and kidney problems. Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 The beauty of meat is it helps you prevent all those nasty illnesses.

Nick1Ø66 8,119 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Rubbish. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for high protein, keto diets. Big fan of red meat. And if you have a massive amount of weight to lose, such a diet can work. And I 100% think people should cut out processed foods and refined carbs out of their diet. But any way of eating that has you avoiding the fruits and vegetables that God gave us on this good green Earth is just...wrong. And long term unstainable. enderdrag64 and Jay 1 1
Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Most vegetation is poisonous. Most animals are edible. All I need to know.

Edmilson 12,209 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Jerry, think of it this way: you'll need to be alive and healthy in order to get to the 4,000 movies watched on Letterboxd.
Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 That's what I'm doing. Gave up all carbs in order to live longer and healthier.

Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 My chatbot told me "the guy from the Netherlands is largely correct" about the EU. And that GM animals are not approved for food production in Australia.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,173 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 What's wrong with unmodified meat anyway?
Jill Sandwich 11,030 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 What you really want is a beautiful woman shopping for meat to fill your freezer.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,173 Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Eating only meat is crushingly boring. I hope Drax at least uses herbs and spices?

It's easy to cook and is so filling and nourishing. I've also lost 24lbs on this diet in a matter of months. Went from 202lbs to 178lbs, and I want to try to lean down even more to 165lbs. And yeah I use herbs, spices, pepper, and salt. Nick1Ø66 1
