A have a few Arvo Pärt CDs. Who else can say that, huh?

I can, and so can my wife.

So can I.

Here's the Pärt piece we sang a few years back (not our recording - no public upload for copyright reasons):

Another cool one:

Happy birthday Maestro!  Lots of very fine and interesting works from you over an illustrious career.  His early works were serial then switched in the 1970's after going through a collage phase (mixing styles and eras) then landing on his mature overtly traditional and religious style.  Lots of composers went through a similar transformation like Penderecki (similarly in the 1970's), one could argue Philip Glass too.  I haven't heard anything of his pre-minimalism but he mentioned minimalism was a reaction to the avante guarde of the 1960's.

I hope he got paid for all the times his music was used in films

Fortunately, most of the films were after the Soviet Union collapsed so he probably did.

But, before then composers were SOL  , at least as far as being paid by American producers

I first heard his music on radio shows like " Hearts of Space" which programmed New Age/ Space/ Ambient music.

Eno and Part!

I like Part. It's like, what if Gregorian chant was actually interesting to listen to? Good stuff.
