Star Wars Grand Suite

Does anybody know if this is one long piece with different themes from all the SW movies or is this just the concert themes of the different SW themes played one after another? I rather curious to know about it because it sounds sorta nice...

When I first read about the Star Wars Grand Suite, I thought about starting a post about what would your ideal Star Wars Grand Suite look like. So, I'll see if I can get it started here. Here is what I would love to see Williams perform as a Star Wars Suite:

Fox Fanfare

Main Title

Duel of the Fates (WITH Chorus)

Dune Sea of Tatooine

Across The Stars

The Little People Work

Princess Leia

Imperial March

The Asteroid Field

Yoda's Theme

Han Solo And The Princess

Here They Come!

The Forest Battle

The Emperor (again, WITH Chorus)

Throne Room (from A New Hope) and Finale (from Return of the Jedi)

I closed my suite with the finale from ROTJ to squeeze in more material, the Ewoks theme and Luke & Leia. With the exception of 'The Emperor' all of these pieces are actual concert versions that Williams has performed, so this is definitely feasible.

Oh, by the way, does anyone know exactly what James Earl Jones did during the Grand Suite. All I read was that he provided narration. Did he talk during every piece, or did he just do a kind of introduction (like, "A long time ago...") and closing.

Let me know when they start selling tickets. I'm there. :P

Here is an e-mail I got from a lurker of this board who was at this concert. The title of the e-mail is "Grand Sour from Star Wars".

"The so-called suite consisted of narration by James Earl Jones (some of the worst ever written since the beginning of time) spoken between lazy performances of the same tired old concert arrangements, as follows:

20th Century Fox Fanfare

Star Wars Main Title

Duel of the Fates (no chorus)

The Desert (played under narration)

Across the Stars

The Imperial March (concert version)

Cantina Band (concert version)

Princess Leia's theme

The Asteroid Field (concert version)

Yoda's theme

Parade of the Ewoks (concert version)

Throne Room and Star Wars End Title

(concert version, but skipping over Ben's theme)

Boring boring boring -- dreadful!

Prior to that:

Harry Potter suite:

Hedwig's theme

Fawkes

Wind piece from children's suite

Harry's Wondrous World

Three interminable pieces from Catch Me in the Can (who cares?)

Tribute to the Film composer (a.k.a. Soundtrack sampler)"

He also went on to describe it as "the worst Williams program ever". I just thought I'd mention an opposing point of view.
