Intrada Records has FIVE planned releases of the Maestro’s works?!? Sweetness! This year is going to be fruitful for the Maestro; this on top of Disclosure Day, not to mention the releases being planned from La La Land Records.

And perhaps a stray release or two from Quartet.

Look at your library of sealed physical media as you would a wine cellar, filled with uncorked bottles...

When the time is right, you'll select a CD that pairs well with your mood, unwrap it, and—

Oh, shit! There's a disc cue missing!

Fixed.

5 is huge, reissues or not - looking at @Jay's list La-La Land has had a few years with 4 releases, but I can't see any labels with 5 in a single year.

That's pretty amazing! I'm unlikely to be interested in most of them, but hopefully it means a significant chance of getting The Terminal from one of the labels.

John DuPrez?

A FISH CALLED WANDA? TIME BANDITS?

Wanda seems exhaustively handled in the MBR release already. (Of course that was just 1,000 copies and has probably been out of print for a couple of years now)

I wouldn’t mind a re-release of the expanded edition of Home Alone 2, but this time with the OST added in remastered quality.

That OST has some unique and fun edits!

And Intrada's already released Time Bandits years ago.

Weren't it stock cut off prematurely tho? It was out for a very short time, so I wouldn't mind a longer reissue

Is Disney allowing Intrada to release Fox titles again? I know they can already release titles distributed by Fox but not ones completely made by them. If that's changed it'd be a great sign

Especially since this OST recently appeared on streaming services.

So, as for Williams, anything is possible when it comes to previously unexpanded titles, with the exception of the ones recorded after July 3, 2005, and the four that are from Warner Bros.:

The Witches of Eastwick
The Accidental Tourist
JFK
Sleepers

Remind me. What is the issue with Warner Bros. (aside from the obvious studio issues/buy-out)?

If anybody is wondering why Warner's list is so small outside of Varese, I direct you to two blog posts by Lukas Kendall

In recent years, Warner Bros. has pivoted away from doing soundtrack album licenses at all, for a bunch of reasons that have to do with corporate ownership and directives, which I’m not really qualified to analyze—and even if I was, I’d probably keep my mouth shut.

Warner Bros. is a magnificent studio with a ton of film and TV music that they could monetize—and at the moment they don’t want to invest the resources into the legal clearances and research to do it.

from https://www.lukaskendall.com/post/the-dumbest-thing-i-hated-producing-cds-warner-bros-art-licenses

I don’t want to chronicle how we got from there to here, but at the moment, the studio is so hollowed out, there’s just no way they can research titles for music licensing. So that’s why so many of those great old unreleased scores aren’t coming out on CD. And, in fact, why even the CDs that were already released, not only by FSM but other labels, aren’t being distributed digitally.

from https://www.lukaskendall.com/post/warner-bros-layoffs

As for how the Varese WB titles happen - there are no new licenses granted for these, Varese already has a license to release any music from those films.  So WB just has to sign-off of the new editions, not figuring out a license like they would for a film that had a score album on a major music label.

I really hope an expanded CD of Cinderella Liberty will be released. There are some beautiful film versions of the love theme missing.

I always thought that the Cinderella Liberty cd was complete. I don't know why..

5 titles is a lot! I hope Disney is cool with paying the AFM fees and that one is The BFG, that would be awesome.

Not a chance Disney pays AFM fees for a random score like BFG. Maybe there's a chance for the Star Wars sequels, maaaaaybe someday...

Why not? Especially if they are OOP and there's people who will have a chance to own it

Filmmusic is all that/the only one who matters

I assume that any self-respecting jwfan member here, has got these OOP releases the first time. :P

Could be the four Spielberg's Indiana Jones and a remastered Jaws 2.

Why a remastered Jaws 2 is needed?

Wasn't it remastered the first time?

After all, I see, it was restored by Matessino..

EDIT: Oh, I see it falls into the OOP catergory..

Also, a superior source for the OST album was located (by another label) the same time Intrada was preparing their expanded release back then, and apparently they did not had access to this material, so they were "stuck" with album master tape.

Isn't that OST just an assembly of film cues? So it could have just been recreated from them? Or is it a significantly different mix?

I believe the OST album has some different takes here and there (typical JW), not really sure exactly what cues. If I'm not mistaken those alternate takes are only available on the OST album sources and not the film tracks (hence why the OST presentation on CD2 is from the album master tapes and not reconstructed from other elements).

It's not clear what exactly the new source for the OST album was for that alternate release, but it's the one available on all streamings as of today. MM will disagree (and he has a point, as he stated in his interview back in 2015), but to me it does sounds better than the Intrada release, film tracks or OST regardless.
