The internet!

Since I don't have any friends (not that I'm bothered by this in any way), I stay all day in front of the pc (when I don't go to work and the gym) and surf.

The thing is, I don't even sleep very much due to this. I may sleep 4-5 hours at the most.

Even if I sleep relatively early (eg. at 00.00), I get up at 4.30-5.00 in the morning and go to the pc again!

Even in days that I don't have work, I get up early and go to the pc.

Maybe I need help? I don't know..

So, what's your story?

Pot

:o Really?

I've gone in the opposite direction with The Net. I'm on it less and less. I can't even find anything to entertain me anymore. My YouTube and Instagram feeds have totally deteriorated. There's just nothing to do on it.

I also don't really have any friends. Okay, that's not true, but it's sort of true. Let's face it. Nobody can stand my ass. People within my own family plot to hurt me. Literally, as the kids are saying these days. And let's face it. At the end of the day, I'm not going out socializing. I don't want to hang out 99% of the time. I'd rather be watching Buffy alone, pretending like I have better friends from a TV show.

That's interesting @Xander Harris!

So, how do you spend your day if you haven't got many friends, you don't go out, and you don't surf on the net?

Watching movies/TV series?

I don't understand if this is a joke, or not...

Well, all I do is work.

Oh, you have a work that keeps you occupied all day?

If you love it, that's good!

If you don't, that's bad!

Alcohol and music are my only addictions; beyond that, I’m nearly perfect!

Can you please elaborate on that if you'd like?

For example, you get drunk often, or you don't reach that stage?

Also, how music is an addiction?

You're listening to a lot of it during the day? Doing nothing or you do other things simultaneously?

I’m never drunk!

And I only drink after work hours, so about 4 PM, some wine at dinner and that's it. I think that alone disqualifies me from being an alcoholic. I know people who start drinking at 10 AM. I only do that when I’m on vacation.

I'm like JR in Dallas, but gay, not USian, and without a cowboy hat. :cheer:

As for music, I listen to it pretty much all day while I’m working and managing all my Facebook pages (Aznavour, John Williams, Patof).

Well, then I wouldn't really call it an addiction, but maybe you know better, I don't know..

Pot, alcoholic drink.

I REALLY want to try pot, but I’m afraid  to. Not only did my parents and drug PSA advertisements of the 80s work on me, but I’m prone to panic attacks and take medication for them.  So I’m scared that the marijuana would have an adverse or potentially lethal effect.

It’s a shame too, because I’d really love to try it and listen to music or watch movies stoned.  And I wonder if I went off the medication and self medicated with cannabis if I wouldn’t mellow out across the board.

Sorry, I haven't understood.

Is pot illegal or not?

It’s not legal at the federal level in the United States, but some individual States have legalized it.

I once had one of the worst possible addictions. It wasn't alcohol, nor illegal drugs, prescriptions, gambling. It wasn't one of those modern addictions like social media or video games.

And it ended really, really poorly, six years ago. It was catastrophic, with effects to this very day.

It's a bit of a personal story. But it has a quirky side: it is sorta related to... Star Wars!

Yes, really.

If it weren't for your politics I reckon I'd have got on great with you in real life.

Why would you like to try to?

I don't know, I've always been away from substances and drugs (except the prescribed drugs of course by a doctor), and I cannot understand why people want to start them in the first place, when they know they do more harm than good.

Reasons I want to try pot? I don’t know, let’s see:

Steef does it.
Willie Nelson looks like he loves life.
I want to experience film and music through a different lens.
In my friend circle, I was the only kid in college who said no.
I’m a bit high strung and could stand to chill out, especially as I age.
My family/siblings joke about it a lot, because it was forbidden and now it isn’t.  The stigma has been removed.

And

The Next business over from my work is a gigantic medicinal marijuana growing facility and dispensary.  We’re talking highly regulated, top grade quality stuff.  Not crap you get from a junk dealer. All different strains. All different forms: gummies, creams, chocolates, powders, etc.  We got to know the workers and they gave us a top to bottom tour. Got to see the enormous nurseries and greenhouses, the bakery facilities, the packing plant… everything but the retail counter. It was really, really interesting.  Boy did my clothes reek coming home that day.

Sadly, they closed because they can’t compete with all the cheap unregulated corner stores.  They still grow it on site, but they don’t sell it there.

So yeah I’m just so curious.  Not saying I want to be habitual, but then again I look at my parents who are John Williams’ age and the health problems and pains they have and wonder if they could be happier with some recreational or medicinal cannabis use.

I didn't even know who that is.

I see he was in Thief, which I watched just very recently.

I’m constantly personified as being some sort of extremist when politically I’m pretty common sense and even quite detached these days. Better that way.

How do you define common sense? These days, it is pretty hard to say what such a term encompasses...

Not an extremist?

Edit the provided 'Woman Yelling at a Cat' meme image. Add a bold, white Impact-style caption with a black outline that reads: "You only love E.T. and Batman!" Place the caption centered at the top of the image spanning both panels so it’s clearly legible against the background. Preserve the original panels, colors, and expressions; keep the meme aspect ratio and resolution suitable for sharing on social media. Do not add any other text, logos, or watermarks. Deliver as a full-color PNG.

Sorry to hear that, Edmilson. I hope things will get better for you in the future.

And remember: while you can't watch Star Wars, you can still watch The Lord Of The Rings, and that is a comforting thought.

How to level as Crucio Psy : r/FlyffUniverse

Yeah... We were supposed to watch the so called finale of the Skywalker Saga together in theaters, but then we had our falling out. Mind you, Star Wars had been with us since the beginning - it was because of me that they started watching the franchise (with Episodes IV, V and VI, which is the correct way :)).

Anyway, it was sad, but it's in the past now, and with the benefit of the hindsight, I came to see it less like a tragedy and more like a necessary shakedown that, through a long and painful way, put me in a more peaceful state of mind and made me a better person. I hope the other feels that way too.

Much better! :)

But it's not all of Star Wars, though. Just that movie that came out in 2019. And, through some other circunstances, the previous J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars movie from 2015 as well.

It's fine, it's not like I'm missing any cinematic masterpiece, especially with the 2019. But I do miss listening to the JW scores though...
