Facebook translations: Quote Wonderful to see John Williams like this. We are currently recording with him the music of Spielberg's upcoming film: he happily directs us from the podium, always hears every detail he corrects with the humor we know him. A true miracle. What an exceptional being! Gratitude. Quote Cecilia Tsan can he drive even with his wheelchair? Or is he assisted by another conductor? Quote Jean-benoit Clerget No, he drives himself from his wheelchair, with a smile and still so much passion! Quote At the end of the day, he sometimes passes the baton to another leader but he runs the essentials. JohnnyD, Once, MSM and 3 others 1 5

We are all truly blessed to have the Maestro feeling better and being so active. Again, the fact that he is approaching 94 and accomplishing so much is truly extraordinary and impeccable. His composing and conducting quite a substantial score at this time is just phenomenal. Disclosure Day is going to be truly special. Cerebral Cortex, MSM, rpvee and 5 others 2 6
Muad'Dib 2,095 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 What's great! I remember Morricone conducted a great deal from his wheelchair in the last stage of his life which was quite extensive, so this is lovely to read as well. Foxfan and MrJosh 2

Marian Schedenig 11,892 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I'm currently ripping my Double Fine Adventure Blu-rays, and this looks like a perfect track title for Disclosure Day: BB-8 1
artguy360 2,282 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I saw this on Facebook this morning. I didn't expect JW to conduct anything at this point.

Popular Post mrbellamy 8,271 Posted January 25 Popular Post Posted January 25 To be fair conducting in a recording setting is a different sort of test of endurance than a concert performance. Still surprising he's up to it given the last couple years, great to hear. It's unexpected enough that he's scoring, if this album has "Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams" on the cover, it will be kind of unbelievable. Bryant Burnette, Marian Schedenig, BB-8 and 1 other 4

Not sure he was on the podium for the rehearsals and the adjustments... he probably sent someone else to do the dirty work. Now he shows up for the good takes that will be on the movie and the album. Brilliant, the maestro hehe.
Bespin Copilot 10,901 Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 Miss Tsan wrote to us saying that she’ll erase his comments on Facebook because she’s worried it might affect her contractual agreement. I don’t think any secrets about the movie or the music were revealed. We were simply very happy to hear that John Williams is in good enough health to keep conducting his work. I hope she won’t get into trouble for this. I’m sure she never meant to put anyone in a difficult position. Ricard 1

Like you said, no secrets about the film or music were revealed. Besides, it is fantastic to know just how well the Maestro is doing.

I have to say that I was surprised to see how animated he was in Boston, constantly moving his arms either to shake hands, wave, or even mimic playing the cello! So, he appears to be getting stronger at least in the arms.
