Cecilia Tsan confirmed on my Facebook page yesterday that John Williams conducted the essential of 'Disclosure' himself.

I am not ashamed to admit that I shed a couple tears of joy reading this. We are all truly blessed to have the Maestro feeling better and being so active. Again, the fact that he is approaching 94 and accomplishing so much is truly extraordinary and impeccable. His composing and conducting quite a substantial score at this time is just phenomenal. Disclosure Day is going to be truly special.

What's great! I remember Morricone conducted a great deal from his wheelchair in the last stage of his life which was quite extensive, so this is lovely to read as well.

To be fair conducting in a recording setting is a different sort of test of endurance than a concert performance. Still surprising he's up to it given the last couple years, great to hear. It's unexpected enough that he's scoring, if this album has "Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams" on the cover, it will be kind of unbelievable.

Not sure he was on the podium for the rehearsals and the adjustments... he probably sent someone else to do the dirty work. Now he shows up for the good takes that will be on the movie and the album. Brilliant, the maestro hehe.

Miss Tsan wrote to us saying that she’ll erase his comments on Facebook because she’s worried it might affect her contractual agreement.
 

I don’t think any secrets about the movie or the music were revealed. We were simply very happy to hear that John Williams is in good enough health to keep conducting his work.
 

I hope she won’t get into trouble for this. I’m sure she never meant to put anyone in a difficult position.

No, she won’t get into trouble; no harm, no foul. Like you said, no secrets about the film or music were revealed.

 

Besides, it is fantastic to know just how well the Maestro is doing.

I have to say that I was surprised to see how animated he was in Boston, constantly moving his arms either to shake hands, wave, or even mimic playing the cello! So, he appears to be getting stronger at least in the arms.
