JohnnyD 1,823 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Just saw the new look at the film. No music from the film utilized, but I don’t mind; I actually prefer to wait for the film itself. This looks incredible; I’m loving the intrigue and mystery behind this, and so much of a canvas the Maestro is able to work on. June 11th can’t come sooner! Paul M. Grenon and Bryant Burnette 2
Xander Harris 9,577 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Yeah but they’re playing his NFL theme RomanticStrings 1

JohnnyD 1,823 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Judging by the latest look at the film, Maestro John Williams has a great canvas to go by. Since this is quite a substantial score, we are in for a real treat. June 11th can’t come sooner! ST-321 1
Xander Harris 9,577 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 They’ve been playing a variation of his theme almost every ad break. Even if you don’t hear the melody playing, you can tell it’s a hip pop backing for it.

Maurizio 6,913 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 The way trailers are packaged these days makes it very unlikely they use actual score from the film itself.
benoitjean 106 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 La dernière bande-annonce d'un film de Spielberg à utiliser une musique de John Williams était celle de Lincoln en 2012. JB BB-8 1
Richard P 5,252 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Looks somewhat WotW or MR-like, maybe even Signs. Which makes me recall JNH's Signs score, which is a masterclass in a 'tone' score with ambience and tense emotion. I'm not sure this area of scoring is entirely to JW's strengths - perhaps there is more room for some fanfares or strong adventure scoring than this trailer lets on. But whatever we get, it's a new score, and to be welcomed.

Popular Post mrbellamy 8,082 Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 I like how David Koepp said "Spielberg working in a tone he hasn't done in awhile" and everybody assumed "ET/CE3K" when he might have actually meant "AI/Minority Report" lol. I'd love a new one of those from Spielberg/Williams, though. Not Mr. Big, Edmilson, crumbs and 2 others 5
Maurizio 6,913 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Hm, I think the ties with CE3K are somehow evident from what's been shown so far. It's the visual style that is definitely 21st century Spielberg. Mr. Hooper and Ricard 2
