Found a preview with a couple other tracks from the OST (believe.../celestial...)

First half is giving me Close Encounters vibe, I think I hear similar progressions as in that mysterious mountain theme from CE3K, when Roy watches TV for example.

It's pleasant, although the section in the middle meanders a bit for me. I find it very A.I.-ish, which may explain why I'm a bit cool on it (I don't really like A.I.)

The twinkly melody in the latter part is heavily reminding me of something, but I'm not sure yet what.

Two tracks (ALLEGEDLY) found by this dude. Not listening, so I can’t confirm this is real, but in case anyone is interested in checking. Only posting this here because they posted two of Ben Wallfisch’s Twister's cues before that album was officially announced / released back in 2024.

Really digging the "mystery" theme in all its various guises--propulsive/intriguing, sweeping/wondrous, and dreamy/contemplative.

A link to buy the album illegally in the description. That is a no-no.

If this is AI-generated, I'll jump off a bridge.

I'm thinking more sampling.  The tech has gotten so much better and you have a lot of skilled prospective composers with nothing better to do.

Good music either way though (from the 5 sec snippet I heard

Not in any way condoning an illegal purchase (which is worse than just an illegal download), but if we want to encourage legal purchases, you'd think they could just drop the album this week, rather than just a single.

Having a gap like this may build hype, but it also creates a window where people have been teased with the tracklist and a few samples and just want to enjoy the score.

Clearly not samples. It's clearly a real orchestra as well as a real choir.

Make up your mind!

I'm so confused by what AI means in the context of this thread!

Has anybody else come across this preview of ‘believe…’/‘celestial…’ from the OST? I’m surprised not to read about it in any of the DD threads already 😅

..anyway providing it is real: more beautiful previews from this already incredibly moving score. 🛸

That’s because it already has its own thread

49 years after, we would have some unreleased cue from CEOT3K in Diclosure Day??? And AI too??? Anyway congratulation for the Maestro to write like at 94 years old!!! Impressive!!!

I want to listen to this, but I'm too fearful of being AI (as in, ChatGPT created this, not AI the 2001 movie by Steven Spielberg, starring Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law)!

Enjoying a music only to find out it's AI is like waking up after a night of drinking and discovering you had sex with a man (if you're a straight dude) or a woman (if you're a gay dude) :banghead:

I'd bet almost anything it's not AI. It's clearly a real orchestra and choir, and the excerpt from the second track features a gorgeous version of a tune featured in the recent Dolby vid and at the Paris premiere.

It is not AI. All the confusion began with several reactions to this comment:

He was referring to the A.I. score, not the technology.

I mean, it's definitely AI-adjacent or AI-like. And I like AI a lot!

Both cues sound amazing. No way am I going to pay $40 for an illegal "preview" of something that is coming out in a few days (and I already pre-ordered the cd as well).

Guys, it’s obviously Williams. Not AI. Either the movie AI or the other crap Ai that we’re stuck dealing with these days. Enjoy the music for what it is. We’re beyond lucky to have JW’s new music in 2026, it’s insane. I’ve owned JW’s albums since 1977….

He has his own style, so obviously you’ll hear similarities with other works.
I had a over 30 years career in orchestral music. Every single classical composer is recognizable within a few bars. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, etc…

Stop comparing a few notes of his stuff with other of his pieces. Just enjoy it.

I couldn’t be more grateful to have new music by Williams at this point in my life. Completely crazy. He actually outlived me, even if I was born 38 years after him…

I think most of the opinions here are very favorable. People on this forum are constantly making comparisons (why not?), whilst still enjoying and praising the music.

I dont really see anybody complaining. People are just having fun pointing out similarities and pieces of which they are reminded. Nobody said that was a bad thing.

I, for example, in another thread pointed out that the melody was quite similar to Clinque’s theme, which was not a criticism in the slightest. It was just something that came to my mind which I thought would be an interesting observation to share.
Some people seem quite offended by it though, immediately assuming that these comparisons are meant as negative criticism, which I think says much more about those who are so defensive about it than about those who are making the comparisons.

I stumbled upon this on YouTube. Could this actually be part of the official soundtrack?

Isn't this exactly the same music as the video in the OP?

Those opening 7 notes sound like the end 7 notes of the Ark theme from Raiders, but with "softer" harmony. The first 4 notes also follow a similar direction to the first 4 notes of the CE3K theme (up a bit - down a bit - down a bit more).

Wouldn't it be funny if the Ark really belonged to the aliens, and when it was opened it sent a message to its owners to come, and now they're here? This film isn't part 3 of a Spielberg UFO Trilogy; it's a direct sequel to Raiders 🙂

Just my opinion.
