Guest
You could make a point for Banderas if the movie weren't meant to be commercial.

AC1 3,565
No, Guy Williams from the Disney series is the best Zorro! And what's more, he's the brother of John Williams. So who's the best Zorro now, huh?Just kidding.
QMM 4
Yeah you know Anthony Hopkins is the best
Morlock 9
Hopkins was too old to be Zorro in the opening scenes. Also his hair was very fake. But as the older mentor, he was great. So I think Banderas is the best as Zorro.

Guest
They're all pretty good. I think the real thing that comes to my mind is which version is the best? I would venture to say that the Disney TV show with Guy Williams was the best. That seemed to bring out the epitomy of Zorro. Now, to shed more light on my earlier comment. I have a hard time seeing The Mask of Zorro as a Zorro movie. It seems too pretentious. The real point in making it was to make a summer box office hit. It's not a classical movie. I mean, what kind of a Zorro movie has a pop song at the end? I have a hard time articulating why Mask smells like money and the earlier Zorros don't.
