Chris ChrusherComix 46
Here is an odd looking LP on ebay. BOB BROOKMEYER w/ John Williams Lp .:B:DS:US:3'>http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=882603815&ssPageName=ADME:B:DS:US:3Is this OUR JW or another one? Either way, it's too pricey for me. Just curious. Do any of you know?
Guest
That's probably Bob Brookmeyer himself. If not, it'd look more like John williams, the guitarist, than our John. John used to be a jazz musician before his film music career started. So it's quite possible that our John could have been the accompanying pianist here. Harry Potter 0
When was he known as Johnny Williams? If it was around the time of this release, shouldn't it say Johnny Williams?~Harry
Miguel Andrade 1,251
Williams recorded an album in '57 were he was called simply John Towner. By that time he was mostly known as Johnny, but it might be him. I remember reading somewhere he worked with Red Mitchell.

Guest
Johnny's dad was a jazz drummer, not a pianist.-St. Yodes
