Dean1700 4
This post has been prompted by a previous post.Has anyone else noticed the missing cue of music from the complete Independence Day score? The music is from the scene where Randy Quaid's character Russell Case is flying towards the Alien ships main weapon and he tries to fire his last missile. The missile malfunctions, arming itself but does not release so Russell Case deliberately, and quite heroically, flies into the weapon itself thereby destroying the ship.I have the World Record World 006 "Complete Score" and this cue is NOT featured. Is this a result of the last minute change to the films original ending that saw Russell fly his 1930's vintage bi-plane into the Alien ships weapon with a "borrowed" missile strapped to the side of it? This ending was changed as a result of feedback from preview audiences.Any one care to hazard a guess on this?
Unlucky Bastard 7,765
Independence Day - one of my all-time favourite scores.I prefer the version of this particular scene that appears on the Original RCA release and it appears pretty much exactly as it is on the Alternate Ending on Disc 2 of the DVD.I wish they'd release a Complete Score Soundtrack to this. There's so much great material missing from the original release.
Ollie 859
The 2 bootleg versions of the score are missing the film version of The Day We Fight Back which is basically the whole final battle beginning with the virus being uploaded and concluding with the beginning of "The Jolly Roger" cue. What is included on both sets are the original versions Arnold wrote for the film. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
It's possible that the original versions are actually better then what he had to hastilly rewrite after they made last minute changes to the film.I hear they were recording music seven days before ID4 opened.
